The GT hands down. The ecoboost would be for me if I didnt plan to go for big power... V6... meh. Lol
So you're saying if you didn't need that GT power you'd actually like the EB? No one really driven the V6 vs EB so I wouldn't MEH it yet. The V6 owners are saying they love their V6s and how they feel.

The current V6 doesnt do it for me, but the EB was quite balanced as well as very, very torquie.... and it has a premium model with the toggle switches as well as performance package. But yes, the EB would absolutely be my next choice. Perhaps if Ford was offering the V6 with the same options, it would be a contender, but it's beyond obvious they are looking to drop it.

What do you mean it doesn't do it for you? Have you driven it?

Please notice how I started the comment with 'the current one' meaning the 2014 V6.

FYI, those going tomorrow to Annapolis, Ford is checking and getting back to me to tell us what the plan is for tomorrow if it rains/storms. Event could be cancelled or still on but no real test drives, etc. I'll post when they get back to me.

UPDATE: Spartan, The Mustang Bucket List events are schedule for rain or shine, providing the driving conditions are safe.

Just got back from the Bucket List event in Annapolis.

FYI, those going, it's at the Sears Auto Center in the mall. The address on the site is not correct. Rain or shine, event is up.

Thoughts:

2014 Ecoboost: Got to test drive it early in the morning before the rain came. It's got a nice feel to it, has a good pick up (but the turbo lag is there for sure) and overall even with the 4 cylinder in it, it definitely felt like a sports car (thanks to the weight of the Mustang). Now, inside, even gunning it in a few spots, overall, it was very quiet. Even revving it inside the car, it wasn't that loud. Outside, having the driver basically floor it for me and also rev it at standstill, it sounds like a 4 cylinder, there's just no way to escape it. At idle, there isn't much note to it at all and the engine definitely has the 4 cylinder tic to it. Coming away from driving it, it felt like what you would expect from an Audi or BMW. I definitely think it's going to be a good daily driver for those that want that or those that want to mod it for this type of car range (which is the twins, genesis coupe, GTI, etc).

2014 GT: Didn't get to ride in it, but the main guy there was kind enough to actually go get the Black GT for me and he brought it over and I got to get in it, rev it, and get a quick feel for it. OH MAMA on that 5.0 engine. Man it just sounds so f'ing wicked. I understand what people are saying about it being somewhat quiet, but it's not. It's not annoying like other exhausts but it's definitely good enough for me (there was someone there with a 2013 5.0 GT with aftermarket exhaust and his was just annoying as hell). The GT is just a different animal. I don't know why but those 2 air extractors do wonders for the look of the car. I have to say, with the 2 of them side by side, the GT hood just really takes the car to the next level and 19" wheels help the profile.

The Unicorn: The unicorn showed up...a 2015 V6 showed out of the blue at the event for 10 mins. 51A package with the 18" 5 spoke (these wheels are very nice) Some guy just bought it 2 nights ago and came over to look at the GT. The Ford event people all ran over to the V6 and were all over it, opened the hood, got to hear the engine, rev it, guy drove it for us. All the tech guys there were very impressed with the V6. They hadn't even seen or tested a V6 yet. The V6 sounds really really good (it's no GT but sounds light years better then the EB) and the interior is very nice even with the cloth. The difference in the trims is that you don't get the upper door softer materials and the same with the upper dashes. You are NOT missing out if you get a V6. Even the guys at the event said they wanted to drive the V6 to compare it to the EB (one guy there has a V6 2014 and said he'd upgrade to the EB but he wants to try the 2015 V6 first and if he likes it, he'd get the V6 instead).

Other things from the event.
FYI, going 70+ from NY to Annapolis, they averaged 28 in the GT and 34 in the EB.

On another note, they told me some dealer trainer wrecked a 2015 Silver Ingot EB already.

Ford is pushing the EB towards the female market here in the USA. That is the target market for the EB according to them.

Seeing the majority of colors there, Magnetic and Ingot are my first choices now with Guard a close 3rd. Ruby in person didn't pop like I thought it should and it's also being targeted to the female buyer.

In the end, my overall impression was the car was just a very very very well put together vehicle. It's just premium all around.

If I was to choose, I would be going V6 or GT. The EB is very very nice, but to me, it was lacking something tangible that made it stand out more.

GT all the way - EB is nice but, for the money, give me the 5.0 IMHO. Like I said there, it'll be very interesting to see where the aftermarket folks take the EB numbers to. That powertrain should have a ton of potential. I thought the lap around the mall was lame but it did start pouring just as we finished up too :( I wanted to hear the GT fire up but wasn't going to stand out there in a tornado warning and get soaked if I didn't have to.

The turbo motor does have some grunt. Interior is actually nice, seats are comfy and the rest of the stuff is up to 2014 standards.

I really wish they'd had the mini auto-x course set up and rides in the GT but again, no joy there. :( I'll just have to wait for Sheey or Koon's or Apple Ford to get some GTs in stock and then take one out on a serious test drive. :headbang:

P.S. test car was guard - VERY nice in person. So was Oxford White! Competition Orange was pretty sweet. But the GT they had with PP? Triple Yellow. I might have to change my mind - dear God that thing looked awesome.

I just got back from the Annapolis, MD event. Drove the EB auto one lap around the mall. Hard to tell much from the brief ride but...4 cylinder doesn't feel or sound like a 4 banger, quite 'punchy' off the line with just a slight hint of turbo lag. Made a fairly raucous sound at WOT, not good or bad, just louder than I expected. Looking out over the hood while driving it had the appearance of an upward incline, which I didn't care for.

Man we didn't get anything like this today at Annapolis. Why does the GT not take the same path as the EB around that one corner. It goes wider then back onto the path.

No, we didn't. That was more like what I was expecting above. BTW, I'm laughing 'cause I lived in Hillsdale for a while and looks like it was right next to one of my old watering holes (Orange Lantern - exit off 17). I think this is the parking lot just across going to the Mall.
