Hello...my 2016 Mustang GT 5.0 (bought new) has consumed two air conditioner units (under warranty), and now, with 32,000 miles on it, is making that characteristic whine that says AC unit #3 will soon be needed. Seems odd to replace the AC every time I change the oil. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

If your car had the evap replaced or compressor failure without properly evacuating the system it can leave behind problems. Maybe try a different dealer.

If it is the compressor, and if it has the tight stretch belt on it... I wonder if the belt is causing an issue by pulling on it... lots of if’s and guessing..

Please provide more info because “has consumed 2 air conditioner units” doesn’t tell us anything about exactly what was repaired or replaced previously....

Hello Cobra Jet - Thank you for replying. AC started whining, steadily louder until is was obvious there was a problem. Dealer replaced the entire AC unit under warranty at about 12,000 miles. By about 24,000 miles, the second one was whining loud enough that the dealer replaced the entire AC unit again, also under warranty. Blame was placed on the AC clutch. Now with 34,000 miles, the whining sound is returning. Arghh!
