Had a cel earlier this week at about 840 miles. Took it to my dealer and they said it was a faulty coolant temp sensor. Replaced it and got it back next day. Tonight i started it after leaving the gym and the cel came on again. Went straight to the dealer. They did a scan and got a code for a random misfire. Driving a Taurus til they let me know what's up. I told them I've been reading about cel issues online. The service guy asked me what I'd heard about it online. That wasn't real encouraging.

If anyone figures it out, post some updates. I'm taking mine into the dealership tomorrow.

My dealer has 50! loaner cars.
But I hope all off you mention the EB harness issues on Focus/Escape models if they can't find a thing. Would be worth a shoot IMO.

Any updates for the guys that have their cars in.

I don't want to jinx it... but since the dealership reset the ECU and I refueled 94 + PEA fuel system cleaner no CEL after 200 KM's so far.. *knock on wood**

Mine came back after 80-100 miles after clearing the code. If you got a code reader id check it even with the CEL off.

I use my torque pro app to scan for the codes, would this suffice?

Hm I'm not sure I never used that but if its an OBDII reader I think it should be fine. My device was a cheapo from oreillys.

LMK if it comes back though. My car is at the dealership right now

Ya, it has a scan for fault codes function. I'll do it when I get into my car after work. Its FREEZING here in Canada (-12 Celsius) this morning and I thought it would throw the CEL as it seems its cold starts that cause it. But nothing!!

Still going to be cold after work. Will update.

I've got my car at the dealership now. I took in for the CEL again and to get the PP brakes changed out. Luckily, the rep was able to replicate the squeaking of the brakes. No luck on the CEL though, I was told they can't fix it again and I have to wait for a fix from Ford.

Hopefully, I can pick it up today or tomorrow. I'll give you guys an update.

Mine was at the dealership since saturday 7am. Called to see what the update is and she said he's working on it and she'll call me in a few hours.

Just got my Stang back from my dealer. Some background:
Early last week my cel went on and it was determined to be a faulty coolant temp sensor. Replaced sensor. No cel

A few days later, this past Friday, I started the car and the cel came on again. Took it straight to dealer and they got the PO300 code for Random Misfire. They kept the car over the weekend. Called me Saturday to say they could intermittently recreate the cel when they let the clutch out right after starting the car. The rpms drop slightly when the clutch is let out and they think a faulty code is being generated in response to the rpm drop.

When I picked it up today my service guy gave me the attached "Broadcast Message" from Ford which he said was sent to dealers only this morning. The problem is related to 2.3L manual transmissions only. His opinion is that it's a software issue but there's no way to be sure at this point. Sucks sometimes to drive a computer. He said the cel may or may not come back on. I expect it will. He said drive it and don't worry about it unless it starts to run rough or the cel starts blinking. He will monitor OASIS and I should contact him if I don't hear from him within a month.

It's been running fine since I took delivery. Not sure what this means for those whose car is running rough.

It's annoying but I'm trying the patient approach. My dealer has been great throughout and I'm just gonna let Ford figure it out.
