I use a home made version of the rolling log trap with a thin rod and a pop can and it works really great. Spread a little peanut butter on the can and around the rim of the bucket 2 or 3 inches from the top. Of course, around here the bucket has to have antifreeze in it, so I can only use the trap in areas where no pets or animals other than mice can get into the trap.

I have those plug in ultrasonic things and they don't work at all.

Gotta weight the pros and cons - damage to a 35k+ car or kill the random squirrel by accident. I'm siding with the car.
I see no downside in killing a socially acceptable rat because it's "cute" and has a puffy tail. Those f#$ker's have destroy more than one of my vehicles

I put 2 of the plug in ultrasonic vermin deterrents in the garage. So far, no sign of any mice for the first time in years. And bonus, the spiders that were living in my ceiling lights crapping all over the cars have left as well. Not bad for 20 bucks from Scamazon.
Man I would be really cheesed off if a mouse got under my Hood, the only thing aloud under there are Horse's. Are the vermin deterrents any good for snakes? :)

Man I popped the hood about a month ago to check my oil and saw a mouse scurrying around in the engine bay! I had an idea that they were in the garage, but once I had eyes on the little bugger in my engine that was it.

A few nights later with snap traps set with some peanut butter and the little guy was done for. Looks like I only had one mouse, cause I haven’t heard any since.
