I have to make a decision on the color of my new Mustang before I see the color in real life. Ford New Zealand will not bring enough cars in to satisfy the demand so the first shipments will all be sold, I am on the list at my local dealer.
I am interested in 3 colors. Deep Impact Blue, Guard and Magnetic, can someone please list the lightest of these 3 colors.
Which one is the easiest color to keep clean?
Which color shows the lines of the Mustang off the best?
I have a 2005 Lexus GS300 which is painted in cypress pearl which is a similar color to guard, but I think the Lexus is a little lighter, can someone please comment.
I also own a 2009 Landrover LR2 painted in orkney grey I think this is a very similar color to the magnetic, what are your thoughts?
These 2 cars are in my photos if you want to take a look.
I would be very grateful if people could comment.
Thank you

Did you go to the color part of the forums to look at all the pictures? I can tell you I saw Magnetic today and was completely let down by it. But again there are tons on here that got Magnetic and love it. The color that caught me off guard was Ruby Red...it looks amazing. And surprisingly Ingot silver looks good in premium.

Yes I have looked at all the photos, but allot of people have stated the camera color is not correct. photos are taken inside, poor light.
I need someone to post (photos) true outside colors in natural sunlight.
Some people on this forum know the photos I am talking about, the color of the cars they have seen in person.

I have seen all the colors in person and thought I was going to go with the blue for sure. I was very let down by the blue when I saw it. As someone else said, I will have to agree that ruby red surprised me the most. One of my top two favorite for sure. But back to your questions. This is all my opinion of course, people really see colors totally different, but here is my opinion:

Lightest to darkest: Magnetic, Deep Impact Blue, Guard
Easiest to keep clean: Same order
Color shows off the lines: Magnetic, Guard, Deep Impact Blue
Lexus color: Nothing like Guard at all...
Land Rover color: Similar, little more metalic to it than that picture shows

If you want to see the lines of your new Mustang you shouldn't get any of these colors and go for white, silver or yellow.

I think I've seen them all now.

White does not get enough love on the forums.

Only color that I've been really surprised at was magnetic, it seemed like guards ugly older sister. That is just one persons take & not written to irritate and I only saw that car under one type of lighting (bright mid day sun). Otherwise the cars looked as I expected them to look from the pictures.

If I had to do it again I'd buy guard again, but it is only about my 3rd favorite color in the bright sunlight and it looked like gray poop under the dealers parking lot lights. Cloudy or evening or night or shade & it works for me.

Honestly, I really like YYY both in person and in pictures. But in person, the lines felt pretty washed out. Silver they look pretty good, better in Ruby Red.

Lines show best on Ruby and Silver in my opinion. Ruby in daylight looks amazing.

I wasn't impressed with Guard or Magnetic...both look drab and lose the black contrasts.

Couldn't disagree more. In bright lighting you lose the body lines on brighter colors. The best color I've seen for showing body lines by far is Ruby Red.

Agreed..any of the non metallic colors (black, white, orange, yellow) really lose the lines. Race Red really seems to be the only one that holds them out of that group of non metallic.

Given your choices, in my opinion the lightest would be DIB. Guard and Magnetic are pretty similar in terms of light and dark.

Otherwise, I do think Ruby Red and DIB are the best for complimenting the lines of the S550. I haven't seen an Ingot Silver or Oxford White one in person as yet though.

If your considering a 2015 Mustang Convertible, the only color choice is obviously Race Red, case closed, sorry!

My opinion on the colors so far:

1) Magnetic - nice, but a bit too muddy and warm for my liking. I don't think it was completely clean when I saw it on the dealer lot. Will probably be one of the easiest colors to keep clean though.

2) Guard - I'm biased, but it looks so much better in person. It's a complete chameleon of a color though. I loved it in direct sunlight but wasn't exactly all that crazy about it at night. Probably another easy color to keep relatively clean.

3) DIB - have not seen. I love Ford's blues though.

4) White - this has to be my least favorite color. I thought I'd like the rear end in white given all of the contrast, but it just looks flat IMO.

5) Ingot - I'm dying to see one.

6) Ruby Red - this color is fantastic when clean. Way better in person than what I've seen online.

7) Race Red - have not seen.

8) CO - holy orange batman. This is like someone selected a pumpkin hue and blasted the saturation levels to 11. Some online photos make it look like it's borderline red-ish, couldn't be further from the truth. I liked it.

9) TY - I really want to see this. I have a feeling that it'll look great. I just couldn't live with a yellow car on a daily basis.

10) Black - menacing.
