One other thing worth noting - closing the wing mirrors won't help get you through those nasty gaps. I used to drive a 2010 Jag XJ, which had the same width as the new Mustang, but in its case closing the mirrors took about 7 inches off the width and was a great help in many a tight squeeze. Not so with the 'stang, as the rear haunches extend wider than the front end - and in fact only match the width of the front with the mirrors open. So keep those mirrors out: a little like cats' whiskers, they'll help you tell if it's going to fit through that space or not.
Admittedly, I learned this driving a US-spec Mustang in Texas last year, which has smaller mirrors than the UK car - but I suspect the principle roughly holds true here. (BTW, as you might imagine, all the car parks in Texas were a dream, built for bigness!)

Collecting mine tomorrow at 9am. So a little excited, yes. Modding it at 11am. Hopefully not crashing and dying in it at 2pm.

Hang on - can we please put this topic to bed once and for all? The Mustang is NOT a "big American barge" from the 1960's.

It is a similar size to the Mondeo, C5 and many other cars.

yes, it does have a slightly wider track (so the Eurostar needs some care).
yes, it does have a larger bonnet than most cars but the turning circle is fine - and at least you can pretty much see the end of the bonnet.

In fact I have just checked and the Mondeo is a little larger!
Mustang length - 4784 width (inc mirrors) 2080
Mondeo length - 4871 width (inc mirrors) 2121

I share my driving between the mustang and the C5; the main difference to me is I seem to sit nearer the centre line of the car in the mustang, and a bit lower. But the visibility is fine in both...

Yes, there are some (older) multi story car parks I don't like taking either car into, but the mustang is no worse than the C5. In fact better, as it has reversing sensors and a camera!

There seem to be a few in the area; I live in Locks Heath and I have seen a couple in the area a few times (but never when I have been in mine, so we can't do the "wave")
