So you are doing new pipe from the resonator all the way back then? I was planning muffler delete but just doing axleback, replacing the muffler itself with straight pipe and providing new stainless tips to weld onto it. No mandrel bending required that way. I don't know what you would gain doing new pipe all the way from the resonator back without actually replacing the resonator with an h-pipe or x-pipe. You might just pay more money without any difference in sound or power.

If I were you I wouldn't worry about the 2.5" then. Aluminized steel will tarnish before stainless will, but as long as you have stainless tips most people aren't going to see the pipe they put in place of your mufflers so it's really a personal/financial thing you have to decide.

On my charger most people did resonator deletes over muffler deletes. The resonators on these cars are ridiculous.

The stock resonator is really heavy, but it provides (IMO of course) good sound on the V6. Replacing it with just straight pipes will sound terrible, and you can replace it with an h-pipe or x-pipe but you will gain at least some drone as a result (and lots of rasp with the x-pipe), depending on what you do with the rest of the system. YMMV.

If you keep your mufflers it will sound fine. If you go straight pipe from the cats it sounds like garbage. The 11-14 V6 didn't have built in resonators and they sounded fine with axlebacks. No need to buy catbacks on the V6.

Yes, but the resonator on the 15 is one reason why a lot of people prefer the way the 15 sounds to the 11-14.

whatever you do....don't do divorced pipes on the 3.7...sounds terrible! I tried lol. I prefer the sound of the x myself. there is a little rasp, but very very little drone....and its smooth sounding...imo the h sound choppy/rough even though theres less rasp. it still has some, just not as much as a x

Well totally got ripped off. Quoted $240 for pipes and tips over the phone dropped the car off.

At pick up for just pipes (they didnt have tips i wanted) $316 cause it took 3 hours and 40 bucks a per weld. I complained and paid 240 for just the pipes and walked out pissed off.

So I got pipes sticking out the back now without tips and they want 80 bucks per tip... crazy lol. 400 bucks for a muffler delete? GTFO.

But hey it sounds good so far. got it up to 80 cruising on the highway, and theres a slight resonance/volume increase. But anything below 75 is 95% drone free.

So if anyone has recommendations I need cheap Stainless Steel tips. 2.5" inlet, preferably 4" out.

Dont know if I need to have them welded on or if I can clamp something on without having to take it to a shop.
