Also how do these compare with nitto 555r. I've read most people getting well over 10,000 miles with them

On the street I run my stock tires and wheels ...Zero traction :headbonk:.... I only use MTs rears and front skinnies to go to the drag strip and back home ..

Ok so I'm going to get the drag radial.. 275 ? or can I go with 305 on stock 9 inch wide wheels? I see a lot of people running 305s on pp wheels with r only half inch wider. Any vendors wanna send me a price on these tires would be appreciated!

While you might get a 305 on a 9" wheel, you really shouldn't, as most manufacturers approve 305's on 10.5" to 11.5" wide wheels.

If you ever seriously looked at tires, tire beads, and the angles of the tire beads to the wheels, you would completely understand why a 305 tire on a 9" wheel is unsafe.

The widest tire you can "safely" put on a 9" wheel is a 275mm wide tire. Going with a 285mm or wider on a 9" wheel will introduce safety issues (wider increases safety issues). You tire pressure becomes more critical as you will need to rely on the pressure to help the tire bead stay on the wheels since the angles of the bead to rim will be off. Lastly, the wider than approved tires will wear mostly down the middle instead of evenly across the tire surface, as you are pulling the sidewalls inward and introducing a "pinch" effect to the tire. This causes the middle of the tire to have a slight outward arc in a surface that should be flat, thereby causing the accelerated wearing of the middle of the tire.

You decide, look "cool" at the expense of safety and abnormal tire wear, or get better grip while maintaining the handling. If you want better grip, you can safely add +10mm to the factory rubber, but the type/brand of tire is where real grip comes from.

I would've run a 305 on 9" wheel either. But, I run 305s on my PP 9.5" wheel all of the time.

not only is it unsafe for bead seat, but it looks horrible with that large bulge over the wheel.

Evo8904 yours does look good not too much bulge with the 9.5 inch wheel. Some tires are not as wide even with the same tire size listed. like nitto Nt555's 315/35 are notorious for being undersize in width compared to other brands of same size.
