That is true...mine has been great for more than a year and it pisses me off that others have problems because they paid good money for their cars too.

My 2013 did not shift well at all. My 2015 shifts awesome. 1st 2nd, wow. Even 2nd to 3rd is BAM. If problems started after a clutch install, I would suspect the clutch install. Mine shifts as good or better than a BRZ, Miata ,M3 or Corvette. That's just comparing it to cars I have owned.

A replacement shifter is always a good idea, as OP said earlier. I second the Barton or the MGW. It still sounds like you should get a second opinion on your clutch install.

I would look at clutch and then shift linkage make sure it's tight.

I never had issue with 11GT I had and most issue's came from people man handling shifter. Lockout as they like to call was them missing the gate. When they did find it was jammed hard into gear. Did I miss gears few times yes but not after getting use to it. I did put MGW shifter in 11 GT but I did remove it when I traded it in.

Now my 15 GT shifts better over last model. Still haven't put MGW shifter in yet

Let's focus on what changed. Don't go throwing parts at it until you at least understand the functional area/system that's the issue.

Some other questions:

How many miles were put on the transmission after the clutch install?

Did the shop happen to drain any fluid when they removed the trans?

Let me ask do you have any very noticeable buzz/vibs above 4k Rpm when the clutch is depressed through your pedal? Like the rpms are transferring engine harmonics.
I get this on the stock clutch when in higher RPMS in 4th and 5th gear, do you know what the cause is? The sensation almost feels like the fluid is boiling or something when pushing the clutch down.

I have no clue, but I am experiencing this as well. Wondering if the OP was but he said no. It might be a throw out bearing going bad. It is a bothersome experience as if I am causing harm. I don't like to be in the upper rpms because of it.

odd guess i got a good mt trans it seems , mines not notchy at all shifts fine in any rpm, never had a lockout. i only have 3600 miles but i drive it like i've drivin all my manual cars..

but in your case it has to be something the installer did . if it was fine before hand then they screwed up . ive done about 5 clutches in my life and never had a issue like your having ..could be alot of things..ive seen some guys not bleed or vac the system properly and get air, and it can cause engage and disengage problems.slave cyl could be weak or going..not pushing the fork in or out properly.
clutch disc it self could be getting hot and sticking to the fw . happened on my buddys bmw and he couldnt get it in gear till it cooled off.

just throwing some past info out

Could be, I took it to ford one day and it took them 3 hours to finally test drive it, only to tell me that it would be another week or two before they'd be able to do anything because they were backed up. wtf.

Well, I've been driving the car hard again and it seems like bleeding it with the mityvac did the trick. Happy to report that seems well again. Multiple pulls against other cars and no lockouts to speak of.

I've noticed that pulling the car out of first requires quite a bit of effort as well. It's like it's notched in there and I really have to yank it out. It doesn't happen all the time. Please help. Mcloud RST clutch, lighted steel flywheel, Mcleod clutch line new oem master cylinder
