I sold my mustang last week. Mostly a crime of opportunity, I got an offer on it I just couldn't turn down and decided I wanted to move on to a GT350/R or a GT500. I searched local inventory and was disappointed in what I saw, so I started looking a bit more into other cars that interested me. The A90 Supra wasn't even on my radar, as it lacks a rear seat - but then again, do I really ever have passengers? No. We have a van to haul the kids around in and I mostly adventure alone when I do get out for car related stuff. So I drove it.

First thoughts: The car is not nearly as comfortable as the Mustang was. It's tiny, and I felt confined when comparing it to the S550 I just got rid of. Driving was great, the turbo picked right up and you could really feel that it had good power even at low RPM. It was grounded, although a tiny bit squirrely in the rear. The heads up display was an awesome touch and the media was much better in comparison to the B&O, not even close. It's more nimble but that's to be expected, it's lower and much smaller.. almost feels like a Miata in that sense.

And then I put it in sport mode. Within 5 minutes of driving in Sport, I knew this was the car for me. I'm still going to hang around the forums, because I will always love mustangs. But for now... I guess I need to see what the Toyota snobs have to say as well. :)

Nice. And considering that they are coming out with a 6M for the 3.0, I'd love to have one.

Here's another cool Toyota that would be a good replacement for the RS:

2 month update:

I miss my S550 so bad lol.
I really liked the Supra and was in my top 3 when I bought my Bullitt, but after 20 years in an M3 grew accustomed to having 4 seats and the interior space that goes with that, as well as a real trunk. Not having that took it and the Cayman off my list, as great as they are.

Was just talking to my dad today that while I am still NOT a Ford or Mustang guy, the S550 is one of the best all around sports coupes on the market for the $$.

I'd love to be in another M Car, but the 2 is too small, and 4 too expensive, plus long term cost of ownership the Mustang wins hands down. Plus Mrs Bulldog and the girlfreind appreciate the trunk space...... ;-)

The mushroom cloud: Yes, that was the walmart warehouse fire. Once I found out everyone was safe, I snapped a pic.

@Bulldog9 I'm right there with you. I didn't realize how bad I'd miss having 4 seats, and the general comfort of a larger car than this. I feel like I'm driving a miata.

Yeah, when I first saw one couple years ago at the dealership, the trunk was basically a subwoofer.
Lol

I missed my mustang. Bought a '19 PP1 Premium and feel much more at home now that I'm back in the saddle. The supra was very fun... just not big enough and missing a lot of the creature comforts of the mustang.

Congratulations on getting back into another Mustang. What are your plans for it?

Wow! That was a pretty quick round-trip. I'm a first time Mustang owner and find it to be a happy compromise of many different features. The trunk is excellent, the seats are surprisingly better than my BMW M3 I changed from (I have the standard seats with Heat&Cool) and it's just a fun car to drive. The other thing I really enjoy is the motors are really good. Reasonable bottom-end for a relatively small displacement motor and pretty good top end too. Gas mileage could be better but I can live with it.

I have pretty severe spinal arthritis. It took less than a month to decide the Supra wasn’t for me. These mustangs are just so comfortable in comparison to most sports cars!

I also have severe spinal arthritis, can't stand for more than about 10 minutes. I am having to sell my Mustang because I can't drive it for more than about 40 minutes because of the seat. Is there something special you are doing?
