You will see the Performance package is available on the base GT mustang as well.

base GT + PP = 35,xxx
I would add recaros too the but that's just me = 37,xxx = good deal imo

I'm sure the 2015 mustang is going to be a good car BUT this was the 50th anniversary and I'm not overjoyed with what I've been seeing for months now. After the letdown on size, weight, mpg and horsepower, I was hoping at least the initial reviews would be glowing so far it's not a home run I was hoping for. That doesn't bode well in future comparisons against the 1le. I guess we will find out in the next few months how that goes.

You do not have to get a Premium to get the PP... a "base" GT with PP has an msrp ~35k.

This does have me looking in autotrader to price a 2013 Camaro 1LE -- it's hard to determine what's what since the 1LE is an option (rather than trim level), so there's no sort-by-trim available -- there are about five of them I've seen right off the bat with under 20k miles for under 34k... This has me thinking...

On a postive note just noticed that the GT PP matches up pretty well against the new Lexus RCF and I havnt read to many negative reviews on that Sweet ride(looks wise). And added bonus of 32k cheaper

1. That is the same clear coolant tank. Poor lighting/condensation on the inside making it look darker.

2. What was the DA at the test site?

3. What octane fuel was being used?

4. For 1/4 milers pay attention to the trap speed. 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are dependent on good vs. crap drivers.

5. Expect better times 0-60 and 1/4 mile with the automatic over the PP.

6. 300A stripper GT with automatic and 3.55 gears will be the 0-60 and 1/4 mile hero number vehicle.

7. Don't let magazine drivers spoil it for you.

One of the reasons why I wanted the PP....but you cant get it in an automatic. I thought that right there would be the best 0-60 times.

Im saying stock for stock. A tune on that car will do the same. Sorry to nit pick you, but stock for stock is what it is. Once mods start open up your wallet to win.

My point is stock this car may be slower or equal in a straight line. I was hoping it would be quicker in stock form.

Ive modded my last 2 Stangs and this one will be no different, but it seems like I buy Mustangs at the wrong time. I bought a 94 GT that was trounced not only by previous Fox bodied Mustangs but was humiliated by the LT1.
I bought a 05 GT that had no Camaro to go up against but got beat on by a 400hp GTO. And while the 15 GT will hold its own against the Camaro, it might not against the 11-14s. And when the new LT1 Camaro comes out the 15 GT stock is most likely gonna get beat in a straight line.

I love Mustangs but I will not give credit when it is not deserved.

Overall yes I do give credit for the entire package. The IRS is what did it for me. Im just disappointed in the straight line performance.

The 2015 is a new platform to build off, don't see how 0.2s matters.. when they know every gear head will ante up for the track key...

..and avoid the insurance premium.

As I do agree with you, as a performance enthusiast, just mod it and you will win...but an everyday buyer that is looking for a "fast car" is going to look at
1. Horsepower
2. 1/4 mile times
3. Handling reviews
......they will then compare that car to other cars and ultimately pick the highest rated stat car.

Mustang has the HP but not the 1/4 times to back it up. So it will be a toss up.

So here is a REAL world price comparison between a Base 300A 2015 GT PP/Recaro MSRP $37,015 and a Base 1SS 2015 Camaro 1LE/Recaro MSRP $39,995.

This should end any confusion about the cheaper Camaro 1LE.

At least from April, 1993 through December, 1999. Possibly before that.

I was not speaking of stock cars at the track, people that take their cars to the track typically modify them. Maybe it was a New England thing but the Camaros were a joke....maybe that's why they stopped building them :shrug:

Any way, Motor Trend can blow me as well until Randy test's one. Back on topic: 2015 Mustang.

I was referring to the 1LE and the Boss 302. It out performs it and costs less. How much less I can't remember but it was a significant figure for cars in this price range (around 6k).

Please post this 1LE Boss 302 comparision you keep referring to. I have never seen it. I have seen a 1LE Mustang TP test but not the one you are referring. IDC to be honest, the Boss is old news and I'm not buying one because they cost more used than my new 2015 and I'm not over paying for history.
