They are just working on editing all the video for Motor Trend on demand - is my assumption. They will release the track lap time information sometime after the video goes live.

Since they were AT THE TRACK I assumed they were they to collect TRACK DATA and TRACK PERFORMANCE
IF the lap times were FAST it would have been the headline
IF it was faster than a ZL1, they would have SCREAMING THAT
Remember the GT350R is slower than Z28 and ZL1 and ZL1E

When they tested the Zl1 and ZLE, they didn't scream that it was faster than anything.

With that said, the headline does say...

"Shelby GT500 challenges the world and evolves from fast pony car to straight-up supercar"

They are milking things for everything it's worth...as they should. If they came out and said the results, none would tune in for the actual test.

So the C8 is really that bad then? must be like 4:00 or so.. because they didnt post those times either.. C8 is slower than ZLE and GT500? no way

agreed I don't think they have posted VIR times for C8 BUT C8 is not in production yet

Actually they did post the times in a separate article for standard vs track alignment 2:01x vs 2:03x VIR full course . 2:01 is moving for under 500hp .

The review was that bad huh, time that abysmal.. still needs work?

Actually they did post the times in a separate article for standard vs track alignment 2:01x vs 2:03x VIR full course . 2:01 is moving for under 500hp .

Chevrolet used VIR's fast, 3.27-mile (the racing line is about 3.24 miles) Full Course, which is wrinkled with 17 corners (plus a few sub-corners), most of them very, very fast esses (which, I'll note, encourages a confidence-building, understeer setup). Out of curiosity, I asked Randy which track he prefers: VIR or our Best Driver's Car home base, Laguna Seca. He hesitated for a few seconds, then diplomatically responded, "I like both. But VIR doesn't have the sort of brake-turn-accelerate corners that are helpful for evaluating a production car. Laguna has those." His VIR lap time in the stock alignment? 2:03.68. Time in the track alignment? 2:01.91.

1.77 seconds quicker.

Compared to this guy (which is faster than those C8 times), the GT500 carries 10mph MORE on the back straight and a good bit more mph through the climbing esses.

I have a feeling it's going to be "holy shit" fast around VIR.

Fastestlaps is a joke and far from credible. They have so many fake laps (like the GT350R nurburgring lap) and they don't post a lot of official times.

You can send the admin an email and tell them what official lap times they are missing. Take the times down as a ballpark of what the car can do.
