I was intrigued by this post about "Dynapad" on the back side of the rear seat back to isolate the trunk.

Who all has done sound dampening? | Page 2 | 2015+ S550 Mustang Forum (GT, EcoBoost, GT350, GT500, Bullitt, Mach 1) - Mustang6G.com

Initially, I had planned on doing exactly this, and I still might - but I had placed one sheet of Dynapad under the trunk liner, and I noticed a difference - so I bought another, trimmed them, laid them side by side, and they're just about perfect. I could take about an inch out of the middle to eliminate the overhang, but not sure if I'll mess with that any further.

This stuff is HEAVY - two layers of different

foam, a layer of vinyl sandwiched in between, and a waterproof upper layer. Easy to work with. Cut it with scissors.

This product has been around for a while, but it looks like you didn’t know about it. It’s 1ā€ thick, heavy, and extremely effective: https://www.tkoperformance.com/2015-2021-Mustang-Blockitā„¢-Quick-Quiet-Mat_p_2008.html
I saw that! I wanted one, saw the old group buy for the pre-fitted for mustang version, but I can’t see how to actually buy it, seems possibly discontinued, only option is to buy the individual square pieces, if I could buy, I would.

This stuff is HEAVY
Probably because you're overkill and using it wrong. The heavy stuff only needs to be used sparingly and only needs to be attached directly to metal components preventing them from vibrating. It's not meant to be a continuous sound block. That should be done using MLV foam.

I did the same on my old car. Placed several small sheeds of Dynamat on the actual metal of the trunk area where it was vibrating, then cut out a pad of MLV to fit exactly in the trunk. Made a huge difference and weighed in at just a couple pounds.

Looks like you did a great job and looks like it should work well.

But... can I ask why? What noise are you trying to get rid of?

I bought three large boxes of peel and stick two years ago for my old escape….I already had plenty of it, so using ā€œtoo muchā€ wasn’t a concern.
I did a resonator delete H pipe, drone was terrible, that’s what started this….went back to stock resonator, but I’m half way there, so, now, I’m just going for quiet as a luxury car, and I’ve always wanted to do this. Fun, ya know?

I just installed a standard Ecoboost take off resonator on my droning HPP, replacing a bottle resonator I tried for a couple weeks.

Now it's perfect. WOT quiet mode sounds very civilized and around town it's completely quiet except a couple very narrow rpm drone spots.

My GFs love it!
Ecoboost resonator on a PP GT? My stock resonator got thrown out, I bought a brand new one, according to what my VIN SHOULD use - I swear it’s quieter than stock 21 GT when I bought, but that’s okay, mine was shockingly loud for stock originally
