This was my response about six weeks ago when asking the difference between the two tunes as far as performance goes. Dont kill the messenger, Just sharing information.

The flex fuel tunes allow you to no flash tunes every time you do a different gas. Basically adaptive ethanol and adaptive octane simultaneously

The e85 designated tune alone will be best HP if fuel quality is good. If you have a e85 designated tune already I would stick there. I do as well and I am staying put just because I dont mind tank draining or running very low before a switch and flashing the proper tune with the nGauge.

Call me crazy, but I think I'll put a little more credibility on what an actual Lund employee says about their tunes than you.

I realize you don't know who I am, that's ok.... However, Lund emailed you but I don't see an explanation....

The fact is, an E85 tune is worse for everything except E85. If you have E75 or E50 or anything other than E85, which you will 99.9999999% of the time you fill up from an E85 pump, an E85 tune will be OFF from ideal while a flex tune will still be ON. With that said, if you have E85 and a Flex tune, it is the SAME THING as an E85 tune.

So how is an E85 only tune better, specifically? You can hang on the words of Lund all you want but I have been tuning on E85 for at least 6 years that I can recall and convert almost all of my personal vehicles to flex as well.....

So Greg from Lund told you that an E85 tune will have a little more power and a little better performance than a flex tune. Ask him specifically, why that is and what specifically, allows it to have better performance.

Let us know.

Not hanging on anyones words, just taking their advice over yours. You can go on and try and figure out the riddle, I'll be unsubscribing.

Unsubscribing rather than offering substance and proof? What have we done with our children today???

Gen Y.....

There is no riddle, that's the most amusing part. Like when science disproves what the ancients thought was magic, so to will I show you that Tuning is not of the gods.:p

I highly doubt the H.E.B. station near me would provide an exact 85% ethanol content. For this reason, flex fuel is superior.

Also, some of us like the ability to go back to 93 octane and vice versa with no fuss. E85 is some incredible stuff, especially with forced induction.

Sub'd for the laughs, though I'm glad I see this info on the FF tune since my ngauge arrived yesterday.

I say why argue the problem, OP wanted an answer and got it from a source he trusts. From what I can tell the SAFEST tune to go with (oxymoron?) would be the FF due to the variables at ALL E85 stations. Just my 2 cents...

Serious??? What happened to KenB?
From my understanding KenB is still there, I have a friend that's a terminator guru who grew up with Jr and just told me 3 days ago that they had two tuners....Jon and Ken since Sr. has to run the business also.
