Would there be a noticeable increase in hp/tq if I was tuned exclusively for E85 vs. using a flex fuel tune and running E85? This would be for n/a applications. Any technical explanations would be greatly appreciated.

technically no difference.

in fact, a straight E85 tune would be worse due to variations in ethanol % from tank to tank and seasonal mix changes. the flex tune compensates for all.

I was hoping you would chime in Higgs . I like the fact that with a flex fuel tune, I can "wash out" the tank and fuel system with some 93 and not have to change tunes. I currently run the LUND FF tune and didn't know if I was leaving extra, potential power on the table.

Had a unusually warm day here yesterday...first time I drove the car with the FF tune (3 1/2 months).

E85 is great stuff. It boggles my mind there are still states with no stations with it. Connecticut being one.

Greg from Lund told me that you will have a little more horsepower and litte better performance with an exclusive e85 tune than the Flex Fuel tune.

of course you would have better performance. a straight E85 tune is for one reason only for the absolute max.. if the tune is turning itself down because of 1% difference then its not giving you the most possible. and honestly i have 1 set E85 tune and ive ran from E70 to E90 here in florida. and the car honestly just adjusts itself. you can literally tell when there is E70 in the car and when there is E90 in the car or even true E85. even with a single non changing tune. sure the FF tune is great. but is it the end all be all tune. no.. when you beat on the car every day and literally run it to hell day in and day out like i do. you can start to tell a difference in even the smallest things. people who just daily their car and dont really get on the gas too much and then one day just floor it and are like whoahh. they cant really tell. but when you track your car literally all the time and youre always beating on it. you start to tell even with the smallest things.

I feel very confident you don't know how this works on a technical level but I am sure you will be mad I posted this so I do anticipate your reply....please go ahead and be mad.

everyone can have their own opinions on how the tune works or which is better, I just thought I would share was was told to me from someone who actually works for Lund.

Everyone can have opinions, nothing wrong with that.

How a tune works is not opinion, however.....

Call me crazy, but I think I'll put a little more credibility on what an actual Lund employee says about their tunes than you.

im not some kid who is going to be mad and im not mad lol. if you want to educate me on the matter than go ahead thats fine. im always down to learn something new. I also have a physics degree from FSU so i should be able to follow you if you want to get technical. at least i think i will.
