Molded Splash Guards?

I did my install a little over two weeks ago, now, and have driven in some nasty Spring weather (rainy and grimy roads). So far, so good for keeping "most" of the flying rocks and nasty off the sides of the car. I have had to re-do the 3M tape a couple times, as it doesn't adhere well to the textured side of the guard; however, until Jaeger Brothers or Ford releases a truly custom set, I'm sold on the cheap auto parts store guards.

Use some 3m primer 94 on the plastic. The tape will hold then.

Threebanger: My front installation was not was bad as yours. The tops were about 1/2 to 3/4 inch closer to the fender rim. Close enough so that when I trimmed the outer section, there was no downward curve on the inside section adjacent to the fender. The hole positions are not only incorrect but it looks like the positions vary from unit to unit. Oh, well...I guess RPI is just following the Flat Rock method of manufacturing.

These are all laser cut and holes are exactly the same from set to set. So if one guy is off more than another, they are installing wrong. As these are all exactly the same size and shape. Any questions, email me for help with installation. [email protected]

The holes did perfectly match the pin locations in my front fender wells. But the guards did not correctly fit the shape of the fenders. So either RPI got the design wrong...or Flat Rock varies the orientation/location of the holes versus the shape of the fenders. Gee...I wonder who???

Here's what the back looks like. Only problem I had was I had to shorten the "spacer" on the screw just a little bit. I think they look pretty good.

Its been raining all day here so I was only able to install the fronts.

I did notice that you can us the push pins to pull the top in place. I would like to see a full side view to see how far the flaps go down on the car and what the whole side of the car looks like rather than just a behind the flip on front and back. Can someone please take a whole side view?

That's how they are designed. The clip pulls them to where you see. These stick out about 1/4" to catch the dirt. Do you like the look and design? This is what we felt looked and performed best. Thank you

Josh, I really like the way they look. You actually have to look for them to actually see them. To be honest I was a little skeptical of putting them on from reading the comments. I'm glad I put them on. :cheers: :clap2:

Was about to put mine on, but am very skeptical about drilling into the car...

If I used screws on the push-pin holes, will I be able to reuse the push pins in the future?

TricarboNate: No drilling required...you use the OEM push pins. You may have to re-insert the outer female pin if both pieces pulled out of the factory holes. On the front guards, you place the guards with the shiny side toward the wheel, insert the OEM male plugs through the holes in the guards back into the outer plug. Adjust the position of the guard while snapping the included clip near the top of the guard. On the rear guards, you remove the push pins. Push the outer pins back into the holes, if both pin pieces came out. Position the rear guard with the shiny side facing the wheel and insert the lowest OEM male pin into the guard hole and back into the female plug. On the other three holes, put a washer onto a screw, run the screw through the guard hole, slide a plastic tube onto the screw and then attach the screw into one of the female push pin plugs. Attach the other two screws the same way. Position the three somewhat loose screws to align the guard correctly with the fender and tighten the screws. No drilling required to attach the guards.

I would recommend that you replace the OEM push pins, if you decide to remove the guards later on. The push pin plastic is not really designed for repeated removals. The rear push pins will have had the screws tightened into them and will probably be deformed by the screw expansion. You can get replacement pushpins at your Ford dealer, but I have found replacement push pins at my local hardware store in their specialty fastener section (even states Ford on the drawer) for much less than the dealer charges.

I emailed Jaeger and they said they are at lest 6 months out, Possibly more.

Yikes these went from being on my mod list to the avoid at all costs list!
I'll wait for whatever comes out next, and if nothing does then it's better to have nothing.
