Ultimately these built in nav user experiences are so inferior to Google that it becomes a case of not only paying too much, but of living with something with a tangibly reduced quality of service to boot.
Have to disagree. I understand all of your points, but the split-screen with a map on one side and a 3D graphic display of which way to turn on the other side is super-duper helpful when you're trying to figure the right way to get out of branching highway exits (where it, say, exits on the left and then splits off onto the right after the exit but before hitting surface streets or another highway) and when you're trying to find the right road to turn on in a 6-or-7 way intersection. And being able to listen to music through Sirius or USB while still getting voice controls (rather than using a cell phone where the voice controls only sound if you have the phone connected listening over Bluetooth) is a godsend.

I'd agree with Jimmy. While the search is better on google maps, the integrated system is far better in real-world use for many of the reasons Jimmy mentioned above. I also much prefer the audible beeps that sound at various points when exits and turns are upcoming.

I also agree with this statement. I'm a loyal Android/Google fan (hence the name) and the integrated system is a much better experience. My only complaint is when I'm already on the road and try to use voice commands its not that great. Maybe with some practice it will get better. But if you set the destination before leaving it really is great. Saw the split screen for the first time the other day and it's much easier to navigate.

The absolutely great thing about Google Maps and phones is that first off it's cellular augmented aGPS which is far superior to stand alone GPS in signal lock because its adding in cell tower data to help triangulate its position.
Don't know that I agree with this statement. A quality GPS receiver is pretty accurate, not sure a nearby cell tower will make it any better.

That said, if you are in an area with spotty cell coverage (or none) Google can't help you at all.

I run road rallies in my cars so we use several different navigation systems to try and get to our checkpoints as fast as possible. Last year we used the factory 2013 NAV, A Garmin nav unit, and 2 cell phones one with Waze and one with Google maps. Waze worked the best to get us places quickly with Google a close second. The factory nav was pretty close. A bit laggy compared to the others but the navigation was as good as google maps.

At the dealer I connected my phone via bluetooh and used Waze turn by turn directions, which came through over the speakers almost exactly like factory. Didn't even have to look at the phone, and if I did, I'll have a cell mount.

Not exactly regret but I am not looking forward to buying a new set of P zeros thats for sure.

Also I'm still bouncing back and forth on my decision to not get nav. On one hand, whats 800 bucks on a $40k car, on the other, I couldn't count on one hand the amount of times I would have used it in the last 5 years, and even when I do I prefer Waze over any OEM nav.
I use the OEM nav on my other car all the time. If you get used to the way the voice command works, it is very useful. You don't NEED it, but it does make life easier.

Like I said, my car is a DD, mainly just back and forth to work and some friends houses. I thought about how many times I've had to look up directions to somewhere and since I've lived in my area almost my whole life its rare that I don't know how to get somewhere. The only place I use it frequently is in San Francisco, where most of the OEM's that I've used don't even work right anyway. So to me justifying using it maybe once or twice a year just didn't make up for the cost. I still think about it though, mainly because of resale value.

Mine would be not getting PP mainly because of the bigger brakes. They wheels are eh. The diff I don't know too much about but I'm sure I will have fun in the car either way. I already am!!! I just like to drive canyons at safe speeds :) not too much straight lines.

My regret is not going to a bigger dealer sooner, so that I wouldn't still be waiting for my car six months after ordering it.
Glad to see it finally arrived! You have been really patient.
