Misfire / valve issue / low compression

Depends on how bad the break is and how far the valve went down, it may have made contact with the piston.
Thats what I am wondering. I hope they scope down into #3 and check for damage...

Thats what I am wondering. I hope they scope down into #3 and check for damage...
I'm hoping they're thorough too. Right now, the tech said that there is no other visible damage outside of the spring breaking. Didn't give an ETA on part arriving.

Damn, that really sucks. Surprised to see that on a motor with decent milage and that this didnt happen early on.

If after replacing the spring the compression on that cylinder is 100% again there shouldn't be any damage to anything else. All you have to do is drop a valve on the floor and it can bend causing a bad seal. A valve rolled off my work bench a few years ago, hit the floor and the bend was not visible to the eye unless I laid it on it's side and rolled it across the bench. You could see a slight wobble so in the scrap bin it went.

Well they got the parts in today and managed to get it all fixed. I picked her up earlier this afternoon. Purrs like a kitten again.

Thanks guy. I'm glad it wasn't as bad as it could of been. Hopefully there's no lasting damage. I'm documenting everything just in case anyways.
