Anyone know if there's a way to turn it on while doors are closed? I want them on at night

This question was asked a few months ago and i think the answer is no you can't while the car is moving because it is illegal.

Indeed, someone could very easily just put a piece of tape over the lens.

Would just make more sense if Ford made it an available feature to turn on or off. For example the ambiance interior lights, Ford lets you choose if you want them on or off. Why do they give you that option, because for some people they are not everyone's cup of tea as well.

They're very easy to turn off. Just remove them, unplug them and reinsert them

I want to be able to change the color like the interior lights. I think it would be cool to be able to turn them on with a switch for car shows and other off-road events. Not sure I'd want them on all the time though. It can be done. All you have to do is locate the wire, splice it and run it to a toggle switch. Problem solved. Now someone locate the wire!!!

The only way I can think of having them on while the door is closed is to keep pushing the unlock button lol

Yeah, same here. Almost feels like that post was just trolling, lol. Hard to believe someone doesn't like them, but everyone has their taste I guess :shrug:. I absolutely LOVE mine and really hope someone tries to figure out a way to get a toggle switch going or something. Same as the other guy, I'd love to just flash them maybe at another S550 or at a car show.
