So can anyone tell what is actually breaking for this little projector to just fall out of the bottom of the mirror housing? Are there some tabs on it that have broke off or ???.
Yes, the plastic clip that holds it in broke on mine.

To add an update to my experience. I finally got it fixed at the dealer. I watched the technician in horror as he changed it. He put the first one in and didn't get it seated correctly and had to pull it back out. Instead of analyzing why it wasn't fitting correctly, he commenced to pry it out of the mirror forcefully completely wrecking the new pony light. I'm amazed he didn't break the mirror by how little care he had. Luckily they had an extra and that one went in a bit smoother. The next day I don't think I've ever laughed harder in my life. The pony is facing perpendicular to the car cutting half of it off on the door. Clearly a manufacture defect, its just amazing my luck is this bad. I deploy in a week, I sure hope this is fixed before then.

You'd think the dealership would have checked the functionality and orientation of the light before giving it back to you... :frusty:

That's just ridiculous, but really, at this point the only thing left to do is laugh

Most likely the tech installed a right side projector on the left or vice versa.

I had the same thing....I was wiping down the car one day and felt something loose under the mirror. It was the pony light barely holding in there. It took the Dealer almost 3 weeks to get the part in but finally did and I had it replaced. Clip broke on mine as well.

This happened to me a few months ago. I thought my car cover caused it. I was able to glue the clip back together and haven't had an issue since. It seems to only snap in place.

Well I would agree with you if the pony were upside down or at least closer to being upside down but its perpendicular to the car. Manufacture defect for sure. I deploy in a few days so it looks like this is gonna have to wait until I get back. Hopefully by then it can be squared away.
