Hey Everyone,
Picked up my dream car in April and I love it. 2017 GT Premium. I baby this car, wash it daily never take it out in rain and only drive on highways when I have to.
I've noticed many tiny stone chips and was looking for your advice.
I was thinking of putting on the 3m clear film on 1/3 of the car. So basically from the front fender to windshield. All of the hood and side panels. This would give it a clean break without the lines.
What do you think, good idea or bad? Any other suggestions?
Any suggestions to where I can get this done (Toronto area).
Thanks.

I think it is a great idea. However, I cannot help you on where in the Toronto area to have it done.

With just a little over 3k miles on the clock on mine I've noticed more than average rock chips in my hood. I'd be interested in something like this as well just not as much coverage. Maybe just a third of the hood or something like that. Sub'd

I have so many rock/paint chips on my car, but I drive mine everyday no matter the weather conditions.
Maybe get the whole car wrapped? Might help you sleep easier if you're willing to spend some money.

Good idea.

I had my full bonnet, front bumper, front fenders, A pillars, mirrors and the front lower half of the rear wheel arches covered in Suntek PPF. You wouldn't know it was there unless pointed out to you.

Fifteen months later and I have had only one rock chip - on the top of a rear fender when I was forced to go through roadworks . (Since rectified with Dr. Colorchip).

Some pics of the installation:

Ya, well almost daily. It gets a lot of dust, sometimes bird shit and I've got a bunch of feral cats in the neighbourhood that seem to like to jump on my hood as I see paw prints on them.
I'm still on my honeymoon, so ya, almost daily.

Drewbo is it easier to keep clean? How does waxing work? Is it pretty much like taking care of regular paint?

I also had the whole car treated with OptiCoat Pro+ following the application of the PPF. Bugs and road grime come off the film particularly easily.

No special care is required - I use snow foam followed by a pressure rinse, two bucket method wash and finish it off with a spray wax.

All surfaces are treated the same and it's held up really well.
