Is there anyone on here that runs a methanol kit on their PD blown car. I read a article about Paul Fernando's "Panda" car running a snow kit. I ran methanol on a Vortech supercharged foxbody and was very impressed with the results. Self tuned on a Anderson PMS I was able to squeeze 86rwhp with the methanol kit.

If I run a methanol kit, will I need a upgraded fuel system? I currently run a VMP Fuel Pump Booster.

So, I guess that means no one?

I recently installed the Snow Performance "STAGE 2 BOOST COOLER™ FORCED INDUCTION PROGRESSIVE WATER-METHANOL INJECTION KIT". I'm 650whp and am not yet tuned for it but am very happy so far. Even with a 375mL nozzle and no tune, there is a noticeable bump in power. I installed it primarily for the IAT cooling and have a VMP Stage 2 blower on 91.

I've been testing an running meth 50/50 all summer and have had great results. I as well ran meth on my KB fox for many years and had an AIS trunk mount kit form that I installed in the wheel well on my s550. Main reason I added it was for octane affect as my 3.5" pulley setup on my whipple cald setup was running into 4 degrees of positive knock on 93 octane. I tested this summer on Dyno first 93 octanee with my 625ml pre throttle body injection then meth disabled and a full can of octane booster Boostane same as Octanium and came up with the same power results and same knock affect. Both produced 18 degrees advanced timing and 0 knock on the Dyno.

Since then I've been running meth and I'm always watching my knocker and never ever see positive knock with meth. Oddly enough my A/F stays close to whipple commanded .78 and the other oddity is my IAT2 temps never ruduce dramatically with the meth amount I'm spraying. Likely it would take much more meth to move the IAT's, but then I'm sure it would be pig rich and kill power. Right now I have a great octane affect with just a small shot of meth and it's cheap. I've run the same 1.5 gal tank all summer and it's still got 1/3 left.

Those are some good results. Not surprised you don't see a different Lambda, the tune will readjust to pull out fuel as you add more meth, there is good and bad about that....Also IAT2's are a filtered value, meaning they do not react to quickly changing temps, if you were to log the voltage directly off the sensor itself you would see a HUGE swinging of temps, prob be able to see the results better of the water going through the blower.

At that performance level (3.5" pulley) I am not surprised at the equal power of octanium vs meth injection, but I believe with both setups you are leaving a lot of room for error and leaving some power on the table. I think if you started add more timing, the amount of meth you are injecting would start knocking again say around 20-21* whereas the octanium mix will take you a little further, say to about 22-23*. With each degree of timing worth anywhere from 15-30whp, well you can do that math

On the adding more meth and going rich...believe it or not stoich of methanol is even lower than that of e85, somewhere around 6.5:1 (e85 is 9.8:1 or so). it LOVES burning rich, hell itll still burn and make power at 0.65 lambda! Only problem, as I mentioned, is the tune will always try to bring you back to 0.82 or so, which is the target from Whipple. That is a dangerous problem as you will be running less and less 93 octane fuel as it does that, relying even more on the methanol. Instead to really make power safely you would want to command a bit richer lambda that you calculate based on the percent fuel you are getting from the injectors vesus the amount from the meth kit. But now you are "tuned" for that mix and should your meth kit fail, only thing your tune will do is dump more 93 octane, but wont help for the dropoff in octane from the meth failing. That's the good and bad of it.

Safest setup I ever ran was I tuned the car for 93 octane, then turned on a SHIT ton of meth injection and turned off WOT fueling adjustments. No changes to timing or fueling, and picked up 65whp.:clap2:

Love the feedback.. I loved it on my Vortech Foxbody. Will have to try it on the Roush set-up
