Anyone heard both the MBRP race and MAPerformance exhaust on an ecoboost? Sound clips online have it narrowed down to these 2 for me. The current plan is MAP intake, MAP 3" catted downpipe, MAP Y-pipe non resonated to one of these two axle-backs. I want the lowest possible tone with less rasp and drone. considering resonated y-pipe for drone but again judging sound on video stinks. Hoping to get your input.

I have the MAP resonated cat-back, it is definitely a much lower sound than most. It's on the quiet side but it's a nice, mature turbo car sound that won't immediately draw the attention of every cop for blocks. Most importantly, it doesn't blat like some fart can ricer.

Gotta say the difference is more or less cat vs Catless
All of them are same size same shape

I'd say the biggest difference is between the resonated and non-resonated systems. The non-resonated systems have a harsh, blaring noise in the higher frequency region while resonated systems seem to have more sound in the lower frequency range. The same holds true in the V8 GT crowd as well, you can hear a car that replaced the resonator with an X pipe a few blocks away. Cat delete cars just have more overall sound but of the same type the exhaust system already lets through. Moot point anyway as cat/non-cat would be determined by your jurisdiction and tolerance for emission system removal.

I’m talking purely downpipe.
The rest of the exhaust has its own characteristics.

all other the same, catted vs catless will be smell and tone.

Edit

I don’t know why, but I thought this thread when I posted above was about downpipes. I forgot it was about full exhaust I was thinking this was another thread

Personally, I'm sold on a larger catted DP. Daily driver and all. Resonated y-pipe for rattle and drone. Now it's Down to the axle-back. JAYMAR likes his MAP and that would keep my build all one manufacturer. But no-one has weighed in on MBRP race.

I have had the following

Stock downpipe, stock resonator. Awe 2.5

stock downpipe, roush y pipe, awe2.5axleback

cvf fab catted downpipe. Roush y pipe, 2.5 axleback

cvfab catted downpipe. 3 inch custom made y pipe, into 2.5 dual awe axleback

the last set up was nasty, nice quiet but loud wot deep.

not in any set up did I experience a single bit of droning. I think it’s due to the AWE axleback though.
