so can I get input on Ford performance sport and MBRP street. They’re both labeled as Medium loud. But I’m sure one is louder than the other.. how’s the cold starts? Drone? Cruising? Do either of them pop and crackle? And. Could you daily it? (20’ non active Stang Gt)

I have the MBRP street (stainless version if that matters), and it's pretty dang loud. Cold starts will definitely wake your neighbors. But it becomes much more tame once the car warms up. Then IMO, it has the perfect volume level for fun without being too obnoxious. And then on wide open throttle it's obnoxious again, lol. It also sounds incredibly good with the windows up (this is something very few reviews touch on). Drone is there, but it's never once been offensive to me. It's very minor in that regard. I daily it and always enjoy it.

I believe the Ford Performance exhaust is 2.5 inch versus the MBRP's 3 inch diameter so I'd be surprised if it wasn't quieter to some extent.

Does it pop and crackle when you let off the throttle and decelerating? And do you think the pro series vs installer series has a difference in the tone? Or is just material wise only?

Pops and crackles are more tune related than exhaust related, but when the car is cold? Tons of crackles on decel, lol. As far as pro versus installer series, stainless versus aluminized does have a minor difference in sound. But it's not that big of a difference. IMO it's worth it to get the higher quality steel unless you're living in California or another southern state that never sees real winter.

I was looking at the Roush Cat back and that one does pop and crackle on a stock 5.0 and it’s a really good price tbh. I just don’t know if it would fit me because I daily my car and it’s mostly on highway. I start it up every morning at like 6 am :)… and I live in GA so weather ain’t that bad

Cold starts on stock tune only last around 30-40 sec before quieting down. Goes for any of the exhausts. If not going long tubes all you referred to are pretty tame with Roush being the louder of the group. But if going long tubes the Roush will get insane loud but still no drone.

You think I can daily the Roush? Or should I stick with mbrp street. Not planning on doing long tubes or headers .or do you know any exhuast louder than MBRP street but less than the MBRP race

Roush and MBRP Street have pretty similar volume, with a small edge to Roush. At least in my opinion. Roush is a bit raspier at higher RPM.

I doubt youd be disappointed with either option to be honest. I was going to get Roush initially but it was on super long back order at the time.

Ya you can daily Roush on stock headers no problem. I daily on long tubes with a hybrid Corsa/AWE setup lol. You could check out the AWE Touring too. Has a resonated H. Don't let the Touring fool you its plenty loud but no drone and great tone.

I can’t really seem to find vidoes on the Roush set up but I wonder would it be like loud if I’m driving 45-55 on Main Street? Like for example would it sound like I’m going 100 but in reality I’m going like 40mph? Or for the street since you have it, is it obvious that you have an aftermarket exhaust when you’re going around 30-40mph? Or is just like the stock that’s it’s very subtle

For some reason on this setup as well I can’t seem to find a lot of helpful videos showing cold starts and what not. But I’ll try to look into it again. I got until Black Friday to decide lol. But my main is MBRP Street and Roush

Between those 2 I would lean towards the Roush but if you can, try to hear any exhaust in person as it's a big difference. Check the local section or local car clubs etc.

At normal cruising speed it's pretty subtle. You can hear the car and tell it's aftermarket, but you aren't going to get much attention. Flooring it is a different story though.

Started with a MBRP street kit. The H-pipe was cool in that it had a slightly more unique tone than most out there.

*The HP differences between H and X pipe are non existent/laughable*

If your worried about sound level I would add a bullet resonator to any exhaust that you buy. It'll give you a deeper tone compared to the tinny or raspy tones that you'll find with some other kits.

Good luck OP!

It's interesting that you hear a drone. I have the MBRP and I don't hear a drone at all. I had an SVE axle backs and x-pipe and the drone was was horrible. THe MBRP is SO much better and I love the rumble at idle and the bark at WOT.
