Tuned by a well know local.

I dont trust that.

Pick a big name tuner and data log until you are blue in the face. Fill it up with gas and do it again.

I dont trust the average "tuner" with these cars especially FI setup.

Lund, PBD, AED or bust.

I feel for you guys trying to find this phantom knock that some get. I on the other hand lucked out I guess and early ever see any knock ever with PBD 22 degree on 93 plus 10 oz boostane and 7 gph meth. It sometimes is scary to see nothing, makes me wonder if the knockers are even there.
You have PBD tune and boostane and meth!

Thats some good insurance a d piece of mind to just send it!

I bet that cars a riot!

if it’s the tuner up in north vegas at the DynoJet facility then he has tuned more then a few 800+ whp mustangs around here. I still went Lund but the local club swear by this guy, along with some dude in Utah.

It pulls really hard all over from down low to up top now, but poor is still missing on the Dyno. Same Dyno I always hit with my mod additions and it show making same power 730 wheel. Should be making like 780-800 with that much timing low IAT's and no knock.

Outside of false knock, is it possible that the tune is just too lean? I’m not talking fuel pressure, I mean actual commanded AFR/Lambda.
You say that fuel quality is good. Did you actually test the ethanol content?
Grab some logs and share them for more insight I suppose.

I know this is going to sound crazy but knock sensors have to learn also.I have noticed especially when locking the car in sport mode and doing pulls starting from 3k and just flooring it,i would get knock also.Especially when on a new loaded tune.Also if you are getting any wheel spin it will cause knock.You have to look at a data log to really tell whats going on.Everytime i do a log and see wheel spin in the log,i see knock and timing pulled.Also if your really getting 10 degrees knock your plugs will show it.
Will wheelspin actually cause the KR to go positive or will the car simply pull timing based on the torque source? My understanding was that KR is literally the knock sensors doing their thing, whereas torque source 2 (TC) would simply pull timing but not show up as KR.
More than happy to be proven wrong though. Always keen to learn.

Yes the wheels spinning can show as knock,especially if the tires shake or hop when the spinning hapoens.Have seen it mulitple times in my logs.

Ahh, so basically causing false knock, gotcha. :thumbsup:
My bad, I thought you meant that the action of the tyres spinning was causing the TC to pull timing via the KR pid...

Nope anytime you have timing pulled without knock you can usually find out what is causing it buy logging tq source.You also have burst knock,in which no one really knows what causes it that through alot of guys off.These computers are very complex.

Yes it is Carl at Dynojet. He is a great guy and has tuned many, many cars I’m just trying to rule some things out before I take my car back to the dyno.
