Yes! except the change oil part. it is the problem and same solution in different way to approach. the whileline insert make less movement of transmission for rear mount shifter but this is kind of temp solution. when bushing is older and softer and the dis-synchronize issue will come back again.

so better way is just change it as transmission mounted type which is blowfish bracket. the blowfish use the stock multi-linked shift rod. so i think the MGW or barton shifter is the sloution.

I really hope Ford Racing makes this kind of better shifter. so i will install that on dealership without void warranty. or sales MGW as Ford Racing part.
I asked someone who had the mgw shifter if they still had the thud. They said they did.

OMG... just tranny oil is all of the solution of the thud issue than Ford Engineers are choose wrong oil for the car.
what i heard some one do the MGW fixed the thud tho...

did you asked someone who has 2015? or 14? because last version of MGW is also rear attached shifter rod style as well and they just re-design the attachment type.

It was a 2015. And I've also asked people who have just had the fluid changed and they still have the thud. Not 100% clear if it is the combination of fluid and whiteline insert or just the whiteline insert. Of course, have only head this from one person (aeropaul) so far.

Thanks you so much your information. lets try whatever we can do.
But still i think GT shift rod is not quite good design. because when i had thud issue it was mostly 2nd gear. Also 4th or 6th as well. so in my case mostly when i pull the shifter down from the transmission rear side. so i feel like the rod is just expended and end up with odd position. That make the thud and grinding sound. MAY BE.

it should not be problem in low miles but i wont sure when it is over 100000 miles.

I have the thud as well when going into first, or say i'm cruising about 40mph in neutral, then clutch in and go to forth, my girlfriend and I both feel it doing that as well.

I get the thud at times .. I don't mind it that much ... But what I do hate is the drive line clank I get in first gear at low speeds .. I get it sometimes in second gear but not as often .. I installed DSS half shafts but the clank is still there ... My guess is it's in the drive shaft ? At this point I'm wishing I would have got the auto trans .. A car that nice shouldn't have all the noises ... :(

This trans really bugs me ... Having owned M22 GM Rock crushers and ford top loaders I understand the sounds and know what they are .. But that was 35 plus years ago , one would think by now the could make a trans that doesn't make all these sounds .. It was kind of cool back in the day to hear a M22 whining or a top loader sync trying to engage...Today I would rather not hear it ...If I wouldn't lose my ass I would trade it for a 6 auto ..I love this car , the look , the style the power but this trans sucks..:frusty:

GT with PP here.....I have thud and trans rotational noise described here.....80 miles on the car. Plan to drive for a month, capture all issues, drop off at dealer. Will keep the group posted.

They are gonna tell you what everyone has already been told. The noisy tranny and thud is normal. I've just resigned to the fact that it is gonna be a noisy car.

I am planning on such, but feel better if document per in case someone does figure out a fix. I am less down on it knowing everyone else has the same feature.

Thanks

Hey guys,

Whether you've already been to a dealer for the issue, or if you plan on going at some time, send over a PM if it hasn't already been documented. The more input we have on these issues in our system, the more widespread the issue is represented for our engineers.

Just got my GT Premium, PP and Recaros. It has 300 miles and I have this issue going into 1st from a dead stop and going into a couple other gears once I'm moving. I actually noticed it while test driving and the salesman said it's normal. I still plan on taking the car in to have it documented just in case.

2000 miles on PP GT. Have same thud when putting in gear and shifting in bottom gears, babying or aggressive shifting. Ford needs a fix and needs to first acknowledged there is a problem. I've never missed a shift. This is poor engineering and Ford knows it. I've owned a few new Roadsters, and they did not have this problem. I'd take it to dealer, but sounds like this is not a dealer fix--at least not yet.
