You can change the color until your car is "In Production," aka when the car is officially moved into the plant phase.

I changed my color from Ingot to Magnetic about three weeks before my estimated build date (long after I got my VIN) and it didn't change a thing. Everything was built right on time.
That is good to know, I think I may change. Thanks for the info.

I changed my mind before ordering, from Magnetic to Ingot mainly because I've been driving a Sterling Grey S197 for four years and wanted a change. They both are nice in person and I haven't had Silver in awhile and I like the way the lighter color accents the rocker panels and grill.

Awesome pics, thanks. I asked my dealer if I could change to Silver, although I still like Magnetic. He said my build date is set to December 8th and he'd need to send them an email to see if we can still change. Either way I'll be happy.

I just saw my first mustang in person at the dealer and it was a magnetic. It was beautiful. I nearly wanted to impulse buy it, but I am going to try and wait for the 16s to come around and hope they have $1-2 grand worth of incentives to buy next yr which can go towards my exhaust.

There's a DIB almost identical options coming real soon in transit to SoCal!
My magnetic is in production with 11/18 blend date!
I don't know if to wait!

IMO, Ingot only looks better if you were to add contrasting stripes. It's very bland otherwise. Magnetic is much deeper.
I've seen pics of ingot where it looks flat, and others where it looks like raw polished aluminum and is completely badass. With so much Photoshopping going around its hard to know what's 'real' anymore

That's true too... but from seeing both colors in real life, Magnetic in the worst lighting (or not perfectly clean) is charcoal grey, whereas Ingot is Blandy McBlanderson silver monotone. I am still considering Ingot with dark blue or red stripes, but I'm still leaning Magnetic (and it's what I have on order still).
Although this is the Magnetic thread, I think the 50th rims really make the Ingot Silver look great... mine definitely does not look bland (IMO). Magnetic was definitely my 2nd choice! :)

I have been thinking about changing out the "heat extractors" in the hood for Magnetic ones... but not sure if it would be too drastic...

Looks like I stirred up quite a debate. I've asked to change my color but I was told since my production date has been schedule for Dec 8th that they need approval from the factory first. I'll know Tuesday for sure. I'm letting fate decide for me. Either way I think I'll be happy. They are both great colors!

your car is perfect:thumbsup:, no Need to Change anything

let me put it this way
when you are on top of a mountain, no matter which direction you choose, you will go downhill... so DON'T move (or in your case: DON'T touch your car;))

btw: they must have anticipated your car in 1972

It's official, my order has been change to Ingot Silver. Although Magnetic is still very beautiful IMO. I'm thinking maybe Magnetic stripes on Ingot Silver! :headbang:

You'll love Ingot Silver. If it weren't for the fact that I have just had a Magnetic shade care for the last 12 years I may have gone Magnetic, but I also went Ingot... It's stunning in the metal.
