MAGNETIC 2015 Mustang (S550) Thread

Hello Everyone,
I spoke with a ford test engineer at the 2014 FSAE Michigan competetion and they had a 2015 GT there. Someone posted pictures of this same car earlier, but i had a few more than them. I asked him if there will be a performance model in between the GT pp and the gt500 equivalent. All he did was smile and say "Unfortunately i can not comment on that". He also stated that the GT drove extremely similar to the 2012-13 boss 302. Then continued to say that this car is faster than the s197 gt's but feels slower due to its capabilities (the car can handle more power). That it did not feel like it was "on edge" as much. ALSO, those boost gauges are for the 4 cyl turbo model, they were on the GT because its a pre-production model.

The mufflers are located behind the axle as in the current cars (hence, axleback). The pipe attaching do not route over it but rather sideways around the IRS.

no I totally get that but with the 05 -14 from the cat back or mid pipe was two pieces so you could buy just the muffler section(axleback), that looks as if that is not an option anymore you have to buy a one piece cat back like preS197.

This is probably the best look at the exhaust system we have in a photo on this forum. We will have to see what the production set-up looks like, but it appears there are some join points where perhaps there might be parts of the system would be easy to separate. Hopefully we will know for sure in the coming days and weeks.

Anyone notice something strange about the stitching on the shifter boot? Hopefully just a preproduction oddity.

It should be fairly close to what my 03 cobra had with its IRS. That was a full cat back setup but the mufflers were in a different location.

He might be right. I don't see any clamps near the mufflers. Of course this photo is of a very pre-production car.

Is that maybe just the red stitching that is part of the red line interior? Is that what you are looking at?
I just think it's weird that the seam has stitching behind the shifter but not in front

I agree most bizarre indeed? Maybe just a pre-production glitch ? This small detail would really annoy me if it's in the final production version
