I bought a Magnaflow RTR Axleback exhaust from American Muscle in April 2016 and had it installed 2 months ago here in Australia.

For the past 2 weeks, after each day's use, the back of my GT Mustang looks like it was dusted with glitter.

The material stuck across the back bumper and deck lid is short strands of what looks like fibreglass or rock wool, and they shine like glitter in direct sunlight.

This is not a good look and is a nuisance carefully wiping it off each day without scratching the plastic deck lid.

The installer said that it appears each of the baffles in the mufflers is wrapped in fibreglass.

Has anyone else had this problem?
If so, did it eventually clean itself up?
Did you go back to the seller or Magnaflow to have this issue addressed?

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Its probably blowing out the packing. I would contact American Muscle about it. It should have a warranty for things like this.

I saw it too when I had my Borla catback ... seems normal I'd assume but at some point it'll stop I'd think. Interesting thing is I haven't seen it on my new Magnaflow axle-back.

My stock mufflers did this shortly after adding long tubes. Being my car is black, my back bumper looked like crap shortly after any wash. It eventually stopped doing it but my mufflers have a changed tone now. Hollow tin can sound now.

Thank you for your comments.

I've sent a message to Magnaflow on their website, explaining my issue, a few days ago, but no response received.

Also sent a message to American Muscle on their website, and also no response received.

Will call AM tomorrow.

Hi GTcobra, the design and material we use for our mufflers makes blowing out quite uncommon, but please take a few pictures and give our customer service line a call so we can get some more details. We can be reached any time from 7am-5pm pst. We look forward to speaking with you!
