Did my exhaust on Thursday, I snapped a few pics and a quick video. I had an old set of Magnaflow Magnapacks(#10416) laying around so I polished them up, ordered some 4" rolled tips from fleabay, hangers from Amazon and fired up the welder. The tips cost $42 shipped, the hangers $4, and I paid $62 ea for the mufflers back in 2008. So for less than $170 I have a Magnaflow "Axleback".

It turned out well, the tips look nice in the cutouts and I love the way the car sounds. It is louder inside than I expected. It definetely lets you know it's there, and has quite a bit of drone in 6th at 55-65mph under load. But the sound outside is exactly what I was looking for. No pops or crackles, just smooth tones and quite the roar at WOT.

I DD the car 45 miles a day so I wanted something that was "ear friendly" and did exhaust for a living for 4 years so paying the astronomical amount of money for a Axleback/catback is out of the question. I realize not everyone can weld, but you can buy all the parts, a reciprocating saw, and welder for less than an Axleback. A monkey can learn to MIG weld exhaust, so can anyone who can wash a car. Then you can start doing all your buddies exhaust and pay for the welder.

That's just my thoughts on the whole price gouging(can I say that) that is going on for new Mustang exhaust. Sorry about the rant, here is the real meat and potatoes........

Sounds sweet Josh. Are you still running the factory resonator?

You can buy a knock off of the same muffler made by Xelerator(XS0416) on Amazon for quite a bit cheaper. I sold the Xelerator line when I did exhaust, they are made by AP. All stainless construction and sound exactly the same as the Magnapacks. I already had the Magnapacks or I would have gone that route. In the 3 years the Xelerator line was out and I installed them I never had a failure or problem with any of their mufflers I installed.

I ordered 8". They are longer than needed but where I had cut my mufflers off another vehicle and the original "legs" were shorter. If you have a new muffler I would recommend a tip about 5" in length.

From looking at your video, you must live in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I'm in the Foothills of Burke County. I've cruised NC Hwy 181 up to Jonas Ridge for quite a few years. It use to be a blast before all the motorcycle riders found out about it.
