Stock resonator back on and X-pipe returned to Amazon. Soooooooo much better. I regret ever trying it, the Mach 1 exhaust is perfect. Only good thing was getting to cut 1/2” of length out so the active exhaust wires clear the pinch weld. Will be posting the GT350 center section soon in the classifieds.

I do think our cars still sound better than Corvettes or Camaros. Challengers sound good though.
I agree, the Chevrolet / Camaro may be loud just because they're V8s but their stock exhaust isn't throaty enough to give it that angry muscle car sound like the Mustang.

A guy at work brought his brand-new C8 Corvette this morning and parked next to me. I'd never tell him of course, but I think it sounds like crap. Like a 1974 Chevy Nova with a V8.

I bought my x-pipe before I had the car and am on the fence about whether or not to install it. The factory active exhaust sounds pretty damned good as is. I'd hate to cut it and then put it back to stock with extra clamps.

This is a similar experience to my non-AE 2018 GT. I tried a standard X-pipe as well as the Magnaflow resonated X and took both back off. Something about that X makes the sound decrease in mid-rpms but is really loud at lower rpms, and I didn't like such a big difference. Ended up with an H on the 2018 with stock mufflers. It did make the stock mufflers sound tinny so when I swapped them out for an LTH Scorpion axle-back I put the stock resonator back on and loved it. I also don't like the fact that I now have clamps holding the two back halves together but it's not terrible, I bought good double-wall clamps like the stock ones on the inlet side of the resonator. The FP X was 32" long and Steeda lists their H as also 32" long so I may possibly try the H on the Mach but it's such a pain to get back under there and F with everything. I like normal mode now with my wife in the car but almost never drive with it when I'm alone, and find times where in track I wish for a LITTLE more volume, except at WOT where it's already plenty loud. I only use quiet for morning startups so probably with the H I could just use quiet for the wife instead of normal.

I did the Steeda H-pipe myself. It's perfect. More pops and gurgles. Sounds the same as stock with a noticeable volume increase.
I recommend double wall clamps over the single wall ones Steeda gives.
Is quiet mode still relatively quiet?

I had a Ford Performance X pipe installed on my Mach 1 this weekend. Here are my list of Pros.

- great price at approx $260
-Made in the USA
-gain of approx 8hp/8tq per Steeda Dyno tests from 2500-7500
-OEM construction, fit and finish
-easy install
-slightly louder/slightly raspier….sounds healthy, not obnoxious of annoying….
-saves approx 15lbs
-at highway cruising speeds no drone and it might actually be quieter than OEM
-no drone anywhere, at any speed with OEM active exhaust
-the exhaust tips retained their factory appearance/positioning
-the active exhaust harness was not compromised in any way.

a great part for a already cool car.

I’ve got a couple days now on the Steeda x-pipe. I’m very happy with it and I like the sound-sounds more modern with just enough aggressiveness that the car lacked. Also perfectly fine on the highway with the windows up-no drone or obnoxious in quieter modes. I would do it again and I like being different than all cars with H-pipes.
