Per email with Ford Performance (Anthony) - "The rear subframe of the Mach 1 is the same as the GT350 (as well as the rear tow links). The Front control arms, knuckles, hubs, bearings are same as Mustang GT. The Front/Rear foundation brakes were the same as the Performance Pack but had a unique calibration (ESC for the Base Mach and ABS/ESC for the Handling Pack). Knuckles were tied to the brake system, which was common with Mustang GT Perf Pack."

Thought the rear toe links on Mach 1 were from the 500. That is what all of the literature said including promo materials and the owner supplement.

I thought that too, maybe it was changed and it was to late to change the printed materials.

Thought they would have learned from the Australian court case loss not to do the false advertising thing. That cost them a pretty penny.

It's a toe link. There is no magic to it, PP link has already a spherical bearing and the eccentric bolt for adjustment. There is no really improvement from using this or that toe link (assuming it does have spherical bearing and knuckle has one too), it's just an ease and accuracy of adjustment which is what all the aftermarket ones bring in.

It’s wild how Ford never really gave or has given a straight answer on the specs of the Mach 1. Ford even prohibited reviewers to track the Mach 1. It could be because Ford didn’t want to upset the GT350(R) crowd (a lot of GT350(R) owners think it’s a GT3 RS 🤣) or Ford wanted to protect the Dark Horse sales.

Either way, the end result is a GT350(R) with a Coyote engine, making the Mach 1 a VERY special car made for performance and reliability.

I was also told by Ford Performance from an earlier email that one of the reasons that the Mach 1 did not get a special engine was because of time constraints. I was trying to find out more but they would not budge about which engine it was going to be. I wish we could be told what the original plan was going to be for the Mach 1.

I wouldn't doubt this, perhaps some sort variation of the Gen 4 Coyote with the dual TBs with an unlocked ECU. That would have been pretty cool.

I think the Mach 1 is perfect as it is. All the GT350(R) handling performance with a Coyote motor. Hard to beat that combination.

I know it has never been confirmed but I wholeheartedly believe the dual intake 5.0 was headed to the Mach 1. Early rumors by a usually respectable site said it would reach 525. It had the dual intakes that conveniently became fake yet everything else on that front end was purpose designed. Remember about a year before Mach 1 was launched the Biden admin cranked down on emissions that led to the 22/23 redux as well. I suspect Ford had no time to react to that to certify the dual intake so Bullitt engine became the fall back. It also left something on the table to help sell S650.

I wonder when ford started designing the 21-23 Mach 1?
