2022 Mach 1 HP Grabber Blue
Hello all, I had a 2022 Mach 1 6spd with HP in grabber blue about 3 years ago and had to let it go due to family reasons. Now I'm back on the hunt for another one maybe not exactly like I had but would love to get back into a Mach.

My main question is this if I cannot find an HP car what do you think the parts availability to still get the HP parts like the cosmetics (lip, fender arches, spoiler etc) are in the future? I figure they would be available for quite sometime, but stranger things have taken place lol.

I'm leaning towards just finding a NON HP car and just adding things to it I want as they are relatively cheaper on the used market vs a true HP car, but If I cannot get the parts then that is a no go.

Trying not to look at an S650 DH with the HP, but also where the S650 and 550 are so similar I feel there are some cross over HP parts there, but could be wrong. Really just starting my research again honestly.

Thanks for looking and hopefully can get back into one before too long.

Luckily we use parts from ford and shelby so as long as they stay in business we should be ok.

The Mach 1 only items will start going away after 5 years. Example, the over the counter Mach 1 embroidered floor mats didn't make it until the end of 2023 before they were no longer produced. Things like the wheel lip molding for the front, door sill plate, Mach 1 emblems for the fenders, Mach 1 tail panel, and stripe kits will be next. The wheels and spoiler will probably live on as long as they are popular to fit on other Mustangs.

If you are worried about that, I would just buy a S650, but I would highly doubt S650 sales will surpass the S550 production numbers. Actually, one of the reasons I bought an S550 was because it had some many interchangeable parts with the other S550 (over the 9 year production run), solid aftermarket, plenty of used items always coming on the market, IMO better looking. In the FB Mach 1 group there are plenty of folks buying non-HP and "converting" it to an HP. Most use aftermarket though--except for bird nest wheels. That being said, original HP owners use the bottom front spoiler as a plow and obliterate it...some are on their 3rd one. I personally, took mine off and only use it at the track part of the year. If you want to hog parts, that would be one to go out and buy from Ford.

i am surprised handling package owners keep the overbite lip. If I would have bought the Mach 1 with the handling package that would be the first thing off.

Not that easy. It's riveted to the top spoiler. On my car it came w/ aluminum rivets (some M1 had plastic ones) that I had to Dremel cut loose. Lots of work. Then I had to put in rivet nuts and buy the hardware to make it "removable".

I love it! Yes, I scrape it on some inclines and the occasional parking curb but it really completes the look with the big rear spoiler and gurney flap.

I'll most likely pick up a spare OEM splitter and store it in the garage.

Honestly, if you are thinking of getting a Mach 1 HP again at some point, and have the space, find and store the parts now. Manufacturers don't always continue to make parts, they typically produce and keep a finite amount for repairs and when they're gone, they're gone. I remember when Mazda ran out of first generation "R" package front lips and rear spoilers because everyone wanted them.

Honda and Toyota are now starting to remanufacture "heritage" parts for their more popular models but who knows if Ford will do the same.

You got lucky it came installed then because I was reading a lot of people that bought the Mach 1 with the handling package came with that not installed and other parts like the fender arches not being installed.

I put the fender arches and the GT350/GT500 S'wing on my Mach 1. I do not like the wheels or the overbite lip on the handling package. I wish there was a middle package like how I set it up.
