I just got off the phone with a very nice guy at the Ford performance Track Attack facility.
I asked him specifically if the Mach 1 is a "Ford Performance" vehicle because there has been confusion on this. He said positively it is or it would not be in the Track Attack program.
So mystery solved.
Now where is my Owners kit? LOL

It's not fully because it doesn't have Performance Blue colour option 😁 Of course it can be partly Ford Performance vehicle šŸ™ƒ Ford would confirm it publicly, they would boast with it. But it's sort of inbetween, co-developed with them too. It's a car made for track use so from that aspect it gets some perks. No idea why they don't just make it official.

They did officially move it to the Ford Performance section on Ford.com
But I do agree, wish it had it on my window sticker

And you have to be wearing a helmet for it to be a performance vehicle (including a darth vader helmet - lol ) !

For what it's worth, the Explorer ST and the Ford GT do not come in Ford Performance Blue either. Not that I would ever consider an SUV to be a performance vehicle...not in my world anyway.

All that means...is now you can burn one quart of oil every 500 miles (instead of the non-performance 1,000) and they won’t do a thing for ya šŸ˜‚
This is my first V8 Mustang. I was wondering why I was a Quart down, the car is just 2 months old. Is this a thing?

How many miles?
2100, I noticed the oil pressure was running a little high which made me check it, otherwise I would have never thought to look at it. Not at 2100 miles anyway.

Did you check the level when you purchased the car?

Have you done an oil change yet? Either way I would get the dealer to document it ASAP just so you’re covered. I know Ford has acceptable levels of oil consumption but their limits are way higher than I would ever be comfortable with.

Ford recommends changing it at 7000 miles, dealer said I should do it at 5000. In my head I was thinking 3000 for at least the first one. Now I think I'll get it in this week, let them know it was down a quart and get it changed. Also need them to look at the trunk alignment.

Good call. Maybe there’s a way you can verify at time of service that they put the correct amount in and you’ll have a good baseline to compare if you think it shows low again.
