Mach 1 Black out kit

Plan on blacking out the car. Not sure where to get after market parts. As far as I know I have the grill badge, fender badges and rear badges to replace. The car will be matte shadow black. The grill emblem is easy to source. Looking online it seems like the fender emblem comes in silver or black? There is a " MR3Z-16228-AA" and "MR3Z-16228-AB" I have no clue if that means left and right or black and silver. Cant find anything on the decklid neither. Plastidip may be an option, but I was looking for a gloss finish. Seems like a lot of work and money

im 99% sure the fender/deck lid emblems only come in one style, black with silver outline
as for the part number, it seems the "AB" one is a newer version of the "AA" one

I feel the same way and am planning on attempting to paint the silver part either red to match the stripes or the magnetic color of the mirror caps.

I ordered the car when the emblems were black...while it stands out better on the shadow black, I still preferred the all black.

When I get my Mach, I’m going to paint the inside of the letters with this paint. It is the closest to the red used on the Brembo's.
I also plan to remove all the decals, so this will be the contrast for the red calipers.

I’ve got matte black emblem overlays waiting in the garage for me to put on. I’m hoping to Make some time soon to do it. My only real gripe with the car is the emblem change that Ford made after unveiling the preproduction model

Where did you find these I want matte black. Don’t really want to have to take off and buy new ones to paint

This is probably why I thought there was two colors in production. Does anyone know that part number???

There is no part number for the blacker design, that one was used on pre-production cars only and changed at last minute to more contrast outline design (same as on the rear panel) for first production cars.

I don’t know if this is going to work but will let you all in on a method I am going to try to paint these emblems.

I have some three-quarter inch thick hard black rubber that has just a little bit of flex to it. Since the silver part is on a raised area, it will be very difficult to paint those freehand, so I am going to try to lightly spray the black rubber, and then touch it to the face of the emblems to transfer the paint over. Won’t be able to try it for a few weeks though, till the weather warms up.

The edges are tarnished, not completely black and the centre looks more like a flat black.

Tried a couple of times with a light spray on of Plasti dip, couldn't get the outcome I was looking for so took it back to standard for now.
