yep

with the direct flash roush has done, the pcm needs to be reflashed to stock.

it's not allowing us to flash over it due to the strategy change with the flash

That's new. I flashed over my roush tune in my 11.

Does anyone know if you have a proper J2534 pass-through cable is it possible to flash the stock calibration back to your PCM yourself?

I thought there was a law that required automakers to make their calibration available to anyone that wanted it. In fact I thought there was a website where you could download these factory calibrations. Can't find it right now.

this isn't an 11 and doesn't have the same pcm

Exactly. They must have really done a thorough makeover of the way it works inside. Even the strategy code doesn't match the old system.

You know why or any reasoning behind or anything? Is it a better system, new OS, new processor?

Its a change across the entire Ford lineup. Same PCM on nearly all applications. Far more torque based, really benefiting the Ecoboost applications to help predict boost lag and constantly control torque output during all environmental conditions. Also, in the effort of ever increasing MPG, the new module continues to improve. Previous generations had lots of predictive strategy but the latest is using far more levels of it.

you have to return the ecu back to stock it wont load over the roush tune because the roush changes the strategy code. I still havent loaded it because lund was going to be out at some races last week and was not going to be able to help if there was any snags so i elected to wait. Be advised I am having trouble getting the car back to stock tune im about to take it to ford and see if they can do it for me which im sure will cost some money as well as flag my car if any warranty work is needed. Once you have the roush tune its not quite as easy as plug it up flash and go.
Any update?

I still haven't been able to load the tune on the car. I've been to 3 different ford dealers and they do not want any part of messing with it. I kinda understand their point if something goes wrong the don't want to be he scape goat.
I also have spent hours on hold and in discussions with sct and roush and both companies say they cannot return the car to stock tune you must take it to ford. And of course ford is not interested in doing this for me.
I also took the car to brenspeed in Texas and contacted 21st century muscle cars in Dallas and struck out at both places because they just haven't spent enough time with the new ECM to feel comfortable putting it back to stock for me.
So after a couple of months of trying I've pretty much just gave up. I really don't have the free time to keep messing with it. I purchased the tune from beefcake and was told basically I have two options now Lund would refund if I sent them MY sct scanner that was not purchased in this transaction because it had their tune on it and that is the only way they could make sure I wasn't ripping them off. Lol!! The other option was I could purchase an ngauge from beefcake and that scanner would have the ability to set the ECM back to stock then I could load the tune from there.
Im sure it's possible to get the tune on the car but honestly I just don't have the time I was looking for more of a plug in play solution. Thinking of just waiting till the roush phase 2 comes out and going that route. Nevertheless, I spent 450 dollars on nothing at this point.

just to clarify, the issue is an sct issue with the roush programming, it's not a tune issue.

also, offered the option of an n gauge or lund's black box, and taking your sct in for trade credit so your not stuck with something your not going to be using

Will Lund send it back after they ensure the tune is removed? That would make everyone happy.

Beef's option sounds bet but I think it's silly that dealers aren't willing to help

You could purchase a new ecu.

the file could simply be loaded back on the device.

lund has taken the time to build and write the tune that was paid for.

they cannot control the fact that local dealers are not wanting to flash a computer back. there are several options out there to get the tune to the pcm.

dealer flash it back
roush flash it back
use black box
use n gauge

all while offering to give a credit for the x4, that neither lund nor I sold

actually you don't even need a dealer, you just need someone with the tool to flash it, we have one at the shop if the car was brought to us

Ahh. I see. Forgot it's serialized to the tuner.

Your offer was generous. And probably easiest route.
