In the flex fuel tune, there are flex fuel spark modifier tables that blend in extra spark as e% goes up.This would not happen on race gas. You would miss the benefit of the extra timing. The race gas would reduce knock and the knock sensors could potentially add spark, but no where near to the extent that you would want it to. Knock sensors are a safety measure first and a extra power finder second. Besides ethanol is much cheaper than race gas and the power differences are arguable if not slightly in ethanols favor.

Torco allowed me to run over 25 lbs. of boost in my Mach 1 on pump gas. The stuff flat out works.

the flex fuel tune will work with race gas, you can mix any kind of fuel you want, and the flex tune will adapt to it

Here is Lunds response. Good to info to have!

No you don't need a Flex to get the additional spark . Our 93 tune will add up to 4 degrees additional learned spark via adaptive octane which is active. Higher the octane the more spark . We can also add a 2nd Race tune for the c16 mix when you place the order !

Yes. You only need the FF calibration if you use E85. Out of the box these cars add or subtract ignition timing dynamically based on fuel quality.
