Why do most springs lower the front more than the back? Does this compensate for factory to make it even? I'm looking at Linear 1" drop springs and recommendations? I'm looking at STEEDA ultra lite and sport & Eibach Pro

If you measure wheels gap the front has near 3/8 to 1/2 inch more than rear with GTPP. Most spring kits drop them both near one inch and the gap remains the same but becomes more apparent that it should be leveled. I did the eibach PROkit 1.1 front 1 rear and it needed more drop in the front to make it look right so the front wouldn't have more gap. The CJ Pony lowering springs address this issue and drop the front 1.5 and rear 1 inch. I'll be putting on there front springs soon to get the right look. Also Eibach sportlines drop the front 1.5 but also drop the rear 1.3 which seems to look good also. The CJ Pony lowering springs are made by a major spring manufacturer and are likely nothing new, but a combination of eibach sportline front and prokit rear with CJ Pony branding on them.

Thank you! That really helps me out!

How do you find the Eibach Pros? I have heard they are very hard with high NVH? It has to be a linear spring and they do look good, I like the fact they give you Camber Toe in Out etc specifications on them

I was very concerned with this as well and didn't want a harsher ride. I was amazed...really!! that the ride quality was near stock with the Prokit. To me it seemed nearly unchanged and there was no increase in NVH for me at all. I attribute this mostly to the great build quality of the S550 and its noise dampening in the body and cabin.

Interesting! Have you had a realignment? I have heard varying opinions on whether it's necessary or not, what's your opinion? I think I will be going for Eibach Pro Or STEEDA Sport, whichever has the hardest ride I think ;)

I'll be hitting the rack in the spring, first had to instal camber caster plates up from. The S550 has no camber adjustment at all up front only in the rear, go figure. Likely with a 1" drop you will have to much negative camber and will get excessive inner tire wear, toe may stay within spec with the drop. I really think if your going to pay for a 4 wheels alignment you should get camber caster plates for the front since camber is what is significantly impacted by lowering.

Keep in mind camber adjustment also will slightly change ride height. When I installed my MM camber caster plates I first measured from floor to fender and had 27 1/2 after the plates installed and camber being adjusted so I had just a slight amount of negative camber which took the camber adjustment to its max the measurement was 27 3/4. It added a 1/4 inch WTF I wasn't happy about that. The new fron springs from CJ Pony will get it back down again.
