I am on my second tank of gas and so far no low fuel indication has come up and I have 24 to E according to the DTE gauge. It did the same thing on first tank too. Has anyone else experience this?

what is the warning that you get if it is working properly? on my other mustangs, I used to get an amber fuel pump idiot light and a LOW FUEL warning on screen readout.

According to the owners manual, the light comes on when you have 35 miles DTE. I am getting right about where you are.

Yeah mine comes on when I drop below either 30 or 35 miles range (can't remember which). You may want to get that looked at.

Mine has come on, but only when it gets to 20ish MTE and it's never shown up on the same number. It sort of bothers me because I honestly didn't pay attention to it much until I was at 0 miles to empty leaving campus!

mine actually did come on today at 22 to go. Feel the saem way. My 08 always came on at 50 to go and then came giving me a warning every now and then. don't really like that it takes it down to 20ish before it pops up.

What I would like to have someday is a car that is out-of-freaking-gas when the "miles to empty" shows zero. If "zero" just means that you are now on reserve, then how about labeling it "miles to reserve", or "miles till you only can go 40 more miles"?

It drives me crazy that in my wife's Focus, for example, at easy freeway speeds I can get 20-25 miles from when it hits 0 till it actually runs out of gas. On my 06 Mustang, when the "low fuel" light came on, I typically still had 2 gallons left in the tank (almost 60 miles, at freeway speeds).

Don't try to save me from myself, just give me accurate data so that I can make an informed decision!

Gah! Damnit! Where's my inhaler?!?!?!

LOL, I feel the same way!

One of these days I will throw a gas can in the trunk and drive the car to empty just to see how much reserve is really in reserve.

I have 120,000 miles on my 12' Focus and have never seen the message come up but then again I never let it get below a quarter tank because it's hard on the fuel pump to run it that low...

About a gallon if my "0 miles" experiment was correct. I filled up with 14.9 gallons when it was at that level. This was similar to my 2010 Mustang GT.

I absolutely LOVE that it doesn't go on until then, as I usually monitor the miles to empty constantly. It was mildly irritating in my 2010 when it got to 50 then 25 then 15 then 10, having to hit OK every time I would drive around in order to see the rest of the information. This was a pain when doing a lot of trips where the engine would be restarted and the low fuel light would come on for that many intervals.
