While I totally believe you, I can confidently say that 1/4 tank and 50 MTE is not 1/
In- tank fuel pump depends on gas around it to keep it cool. Run the tank very low, pump can overheat or over stress it. Just get gas around 1/4 tank and don't worry about it.
And that is specifically why I always fill up at 1/4. Being that I don't run the tank dry it's irritating that the idiot light comes on so early.

Oddly enough, at a quarter tank I get the 50 MTE warning.

If I'm just weekend cruising, I fill up every Sunday before I go home, usually 4-6 gallons. If on a road trip I fill up when I pass 100 MTE which is 1/4 tank.

Filling up at 1/4 is all well and good if you have a car with a decent tank. But with the GT having a pipette for a tank, I can understand why this might be an issue. Having to fill up every three or four days can become pretty wearisome after a while.

Yeah, but after every fill up you get to start that Coyote and hear it roar. All is forgiven.

Sucks it comes on every quarter... oh well.
Getting use to this car and having to hit ok every time I back up or am low in fuel is kind of odd but oh well.

So the consensus here is that there isn't a "Low Fuel" indicator rather a message in the center information center. I had 35 miles to empty on my "Trip 1" display, and no message. I was told today that he thought it had two trigger points... the first at 50 MTE and again at 25 MTE. But he was basing that on other Ford models (not the Mustang). I know for sure that I have no indication at 50 MTE! I don't wait for it to get to 25 MTE. I have not found any way to configure this function.
50 MTE first warning, 25 MTE second that's the way it works. when you get the indicator, you can't miss it on the digital dash; must hit OK to clear, and then will be back at startup until you add more juice to the tank.

Guess you should never run out then
