I have the carpet out tracking down a leak so I decided I'd tackle my loose dead pedal. I ordered a set of SRP Racing pedals a while back. You can read my review here.

The dead pedal was always a little bit loose. Well, I pulled the foam support backing and found that only the bottom screws were going into the plastic. The top ones were just going into the styrofoam.

So I decided to cut a piece of plastic a little larger to make the dead pedal more secure. I traced the original plastic support and decided how much more material I wanted and made a template with it.

I cut out the foam.

Here's the final result with the new plastic piece attached with adhesive and screwed through. Now that I have it finished though, I'm thinking about remaking it in something a little more sturdy. I was thinking about scanning it and 3D printing it, but it may just be easier to make a mold and lay down a few layers of fiberglass.
