Hello; Two things. First if you buy tires only from tire rack be sure to have a shop willing to mount and balance in mind. Some places may not want to service a tire not purchased from them. Then if you have a problem later who do you seek out?

I buy from a local shop which also does other mechanical work. I have a place to go to if I have issues. I also am allowed to pick the brain of the shop owner when I am stumped with an issue. He sells me tires and does alignments. I like his shop and figure he will stand behind the tires. It is not a big name shop.

I'm guessing you have never bought from Tire Rack. They have an entire network of local dealers that they will deliver tires too and who will install them for you. This is what makes them the best of both worlds. Online savings and local service.

Here are my local installers.

Two, too and to.

Which one is correct in the above sentence?

Hello; Not for myself personally. I did use them decades ago to send tires to my brother who needed tires some 350 miles away. I do not know how he got them mounted.

Well I have when I lived up North. They are excellent to deal with and I was able to use my regular guy for installing my tires. Honestly, down here in Myrtle Beach, I would give my business to our local Discount Tire (a Tire rack installer). The owners are wonderful people and deserve my business.

Tire Rack has ton of their authorized installers pretty much everywhere, mobile installation service that will mount them on your driveway (not available everywhere) and I personally have not seen a shop that would refuse to mount tires I brought with me - in fact I have 4 sets of Tire Rack purchased tires mounted at a show that is not their installer - this year alone.

Tire Rack - for many reasons - one being their customer service is second to none (I hope it doesn't change since they've been acquired by discount tire) - since you are in Indy - I would go pick them up at South Bend for an additional discount.

Manufacturer rebates apply to every retailer so they will have all the rebates others do. I purchased probably $10k worth of tires from TR if not more (and they support a lot of amateur motorsports).
Bummer! Discount Tire bought them out...hmmm. I read the business announcement and they always say "oh it's going to stay the same" hell no. For awhile it will but then over time, bye bye South Bend HQ, and Tire Rack will now never out price Discount Tire of course then ... what?
It was really cool to make the drive up there and get a great deal plus their workmanship was top notch. Discount T I've caught them two times different stores lying to me about their prices.

Hello; Those with tire rack experience have spoken. Seems finding a shop to mount is not an issue. Good to know. I did not know of the discount tire buyout.

I buy tires from amazon because they usually have them cheaper than my wholesaler. They offer you the option of sending the tires to a local shop and everything is paid through amazon

I just got tires for my truck a couple weeks ago and everything went super smooth

@Discount Tire is by far and away my favorite tire shop. I use my local store a lot and am beyond satisfied with their service and pricing and they’ll beat ANY price out there.

I recently bought from tire rack and used the mobile installer. Parked my car in my office parking lot and the guy came out to install them. This is my first option.

Second option would be to use discount tire (which also owns tire rack).

Time for new all season tires for my daily rims.
What does everyone do to get the best price when shopping for tires? July 4 sales are starting to be advertised.

EDIT: I am NOT looking for tire choice recommendations, only tire PURCHASING recommendations.

Pic for attention:
I usually shop at Tire Rack and have the tires shipped to my house.

Then I line up a trustworthy installer to mount and balance and make sure I know that they will work on loose tires. If the wheels are expensive and nice (or difficult to mount) I may pay more to have a more expensive installer with touchless equipment work on them, who I know will absolutely stand by their work. Its not hard to transport 4 wheels and tires in a mustang. In my case I’m usually dropping off the wheels and new tires loose and leave them there until the installer calls me and lets me know they’re ready.

Recently I had 8 tires mounted on two sets of wheels at one time which took like 3 trips to drop off all that stuff. I used an expensive race shop because one of the tire types was known to me to be difficult to seat (from last experience) so I needed a shop that would do it right and not give up or break something. Paid off too because they did struggle quite a bit.

Mobile installers are a great option too, but sometimes they charge more for the convenience. They’ll even come to your office parking lot and do it there. If they can match Tire Rack’s prices I try to buy the tires through the mobile installer so they can make a buck. These are usually hard working small businesses.

Shipping the tires direct to a known good installer is also a good option.
