Hey y'all, '22 GT PP1 with the 19x9" lustre nickel wheels, stock tires as of now
I've done a little bit of reading and seem to have found that the factory pirellis seem to wear out pretty quick.
I'm looking for a decent tire that will last me more than 9k miles and still do well all around (seems like I should be heading in the all season direction).
I definitely do some spirited driving as well as some occasional drag racing, I haven't had issues with straight line traction unless I'm launching from a stand still, going through corners I've been satisfied.
I was tempted to go with some wider tires but have seen a decent bit of people saying its better to just stay with the stock width unless I get some wider wheels.

Long story short I'm looking for something that'll do good wet/dry, it doesn't get too cold very often in TX, during the winter we mostly see 40s/50s with some occasional 20-30* days, the stock tires have done me well other than the rears wearing down quickly, budget is definitely a thing but I'm willing to take suggestions from low to high, I mean hell I bought a performance car so if tires are expensive so be it, so long as they don't need to replaced every 9k lol.
-TIA for any suggestions/opinions y'all have!

I've been very happy with the Michelin A/S 4, but they're not suited for drag racing or launching.

Using Michelin AS 4s year-round. 90% of my driving is street/spirited driving. They work great. No noise. Smooth. No problems with traction during the heat of Summer or cold of Fall/Winter. Tires get positive reviews.

While I am giving up some warm weather performance, I don't have to be concerned about traction when cold or damp out. It's not uncommon for Fall mornings here to be below 0C as the Sun is coming up, with light frost, followed by temps 12C later in the afternoon.

Several have left positive reviews on Continental tires; might be worthwhile to study those.

If I exclude this year, the temps where I am in GA are pretty much like your TX temps. I have never run All Seasons on the Mustang and just went with summer performance tires based on it never really getting cold for too long and then the ability to drive my other car when it is cold. Having said that; you mentioned spirited driving and occasional drag racing. In that case, I would definitely go with a high performance summer tire. This will allow you for many options to choose from. I'd think Michelin Pilot Sport 4s, Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02, Firestone Firehawks, Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car, or something along these lines. I left out the Nitto 555 rii drag radial (it can take some rain) because you mentioned you want to get more than 9k mileage out of the tires.

I just put new tires on my car this past weekend, and this time I went with the Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02. I do have a second set of wheels and tires with the above Nitto Drag tires for those summer months and for achieving max grip from the dig when needed. I only got 6k miles out of the first set of Nitto's. šŸ™‚ .

I’ve been runnng the nitro 555G2 now for 17k miles and still have over 3/4 trend life to go. They ride quiet, smooth and handle pretty well. And they are priced reasonable for todays prices. If you like drag racing these aren’t your best bet. I’ve had no issues in rain or on twisty roads. They are a Sumer tire so like any Summer tire they need to warm up when below 50 before you push them.

Yes, those G2 are good for normal driving. I matched the G2 on the fronts to the rii on the rear for when I switch over.

I second the MIchelin Pilot AS4. I put a set on my 22 PP at 4k miles. The Pirelli's were doing OK but being a summer tire I wanted to be able to drive in the winter months here in East TN. comfortably I have put a couple thousand miles on the AS4 and they grip really well. They hook up remarkably well, corner good and work great in wet so far. I also took the car out on Christmas Eve when the temp was single digits here and they did amazing. Once I drove a few miles, I matted the throttle from a dead stop once on a dry road and it just hooked up and went no problem. Very happy so far.
