Recently installed a fore kit on my 2018 mustang w/ vortech. Trying to find the best spot to get vacuum reference from. Where are y’all getting your vacuum reference from?

Thanks for all the info. Looks like you tapped into the vacuum line for the brake booster. Did you keep the stock PCV four way so that the brake booster only sees vacuum?

I guess to better rephrase, how are you keeping the brake booster in vacuum? I was running a similar set up and the brake booster was none too happy

I ended up running it a little more bespoke and doing away with the four way check valve and hard plastic on the vacuum ports. For future reference if anyone is trying to get rid of that foam four way check valve or has questions here is what I did:

block off vacuum port one, this was sized at 1/4.

running factory evap line still - not sure if I can completely do away with this to be frank.

running PCV to location supplied by vortech's CAI. I'm sure you could block this as well.

Vacuum 2 I ran a 3/8 vacuum line from the port directly into a vacuum block. From the vacuum block I ran a one way check valve facing the intake manifold. This was to keep vacuum in the brake booster hard line. After the check valve I ran the 3/8 line directly into the hard brake booster line.

On the vacuum block I used two ports, one for MAP reference for the fuel regulator, and the other for the honeywell switch that turns on the second pump. If anyone has questions I am willing to share help!

So if I’m running a vacuum block I can use vac 2 port to feed the block and then run my brake booster, BOV, and fuel regulator in the ports on the block? What about the vacuum port on the back of the manifold to feed the block?

I did not touch any vacuum ports outside of these four.

blow off valve needs a clean source. I would run that separate, my vortech kit came with a throttle body spacer that included a vacuum port to run the blow off valve separate than the rest. If your kit doesn’t come with it, I would recommend using vacuum port one as a direct to blow off valve connection.

I used port two for everything else you described. Vacuum block, and on that block had boost gauge, fuel pressure regulator, and on the vacuum exit I ran my brake booster.

I wasn’t sure if the block would be a good source of vacuum for the bov or not. My block has 1/8” outlets so I should be fine going with a 1/8” to 3/8” line fitting? Also did you do a inline check valve or use the one fitted on the front of the brake booster?
