Looking for help identifying this pin

I found this pin after I finished the new shifter install on the driver floor mat. I checked both driver and passenger sides floor lining, the headliner, the console sides, the door lining, etc. but did not find any hole looking for such plug. I know it is not coming from the shifter , but not knowing its origin still makes me a bit uncomfortable . Anyone has an idea from where it may come from?

No. There is nothing to blank on either one.

My fear is that it might be a lining pin from underneath of the central console, but to verify that I would have to remove it again, which I would rather avoid, if it was missing somewhere else .

This is part of the push pin fastener and there is literally bazillion of them - could come from anywhere.

I had the same feeling, but when looking around (driver seat/floor), I did not find any place with that pin (or missing one), so I thought that there might not be so many after all.
