Hey everyone, My name is Matt and Id really like some help if you'd be so kind. Im in the Navy and have been for awhile and am finally at a point where I can splurge a bit. Im looking for a 2016 Shelby that is as close as possible to the 50k mark. Thought I had one roped but the dealership backed out even after I offered to put down a deposit sight unseen. I am currently on deployment and we are heading back soon and am looking forward to getting in one so, if anyone knows of a car in there area im game.

I have a 2015 GT Black, PP, Recaro with FRPP Short throw and MBRP Race cat back thats been in storage since last July and has about 2500 miles on it that I want to trade in as well.

Im a huge Ford fan and its pretty much the only brand that I buy, have had many over the years. 1991 LX, 1989 GT, 1990 Vert LX, 2002 GT, 2003 Mach 1, 1968 Cougar XR7. Would really appreciate the help.:ford:

From an old FC2 Navy vet, I just wanted to say 'Thank You' for your service and stay safe.

Lots of good help on this board, someone will come through as I unfortunately, do not have a lead for you.

If you are looking for a '16, Id suggest a track pack. The tech and base models have overheating issues when pushed hard (more so on the track, but it does happen to people on the street). However, if you have to have the creature comforts, then MY '17 is the way to go.

The 50K part might be difficult. People are buying some of the '16 tech models for sub MSRP, but that is not the norm. It probably has to due with the limp mode I spoke of.

I would safely say MSRP is about as good as you can do. You have to watch this board frequently because leads do pop up.

A suggestion.... use the ford inventory site to search for GT350's in your area. Then move out in 100 mile increments until you find one. That shouldn't be hard for a regular GT350 either 16 or 17.

From one vet (who has been deployed regularly in the past) to another, I wish you the best of luck.

PM me if I can be of any help.

You would have to go base GT350 to stay close to 50K. You have very low miles, but You would take a hit most likely. I'm not sure about used market right now. Winter might help your cause. good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions Tomster. A base model is what in looking for in a GT350 I doubt itll see any track time because im stationed in the Pacific Northwest also I just REALLY want that motor. I owe very little on the GT thanks to selling my Cougar. Poor thing had to pay the price of me playing.

I forgot who, but someone was able to give a list of where all the cars were, and it's trim. I was fortunate enough to get a last minute allocation to order my base car. I know they are still out there, but very limited, as they didn't make many Base models as it is. Hopefully that person chimes in here with that list.

I checked online and you can get an Orange 2016 Tech used in Missouri for 56K. White one in the Northeast for 50K, but has 5K over. I would talk them off that 5K.
Tennessee has a red one for 55,500k. Only 300 miles. I can't tell if its track or tech. it says Recaros, would think track. Has infotainment center too. No guzzler on used. Tennessee is best choice IMO.

I believe as a member of the armed forces you can purchase a car through AAFES for delivery to the dealer of your choice or you can buy one from existing stock and have it shipped. Earlier this year my local dealer handled just such a purchase - he got a killer deal on it as I recall.

I looked into the military program through AAFES which uses MAS (military autosource) it would be a good deal but, for the Shelby your name goes into a pool to get randomly selected for the opportunity to purchase one. Ive been passed over twice and by the time the next round comes up I will be state side and at that point no longer eligible.

Someone had offered me a slightly used 2016 Base GT350 for $50k (or maybe $51k). It was race red in Oregon. I think I still have his number, not sure if he sold it or not.

Speaking of base model, here's a 2017 base Lightning Blue in Southern IL. Since it's a 2017, it's already got Track pkg by default. Not a bad choice. Not sure what they want for it.

Just thought I'd let everyone know. Put a down payment on a Black 2016. I pick it up the first week in October. Thanks everyone for keeping an eye out.
