I can confirm the same with my 18R (93xx miles). 2018 April build. Last time it saw the dealer was when I drove it off the lot 3 years ago. I change my own oil and and there have been zero warranty issues. Great car.there is no definitive proof the 19-20's have better (ie, less) oil consumption. it's all hearsay. my 18R never had a single drop of oil. never had to add a single drop between annual oil changes. always between the hash marks when checking the dip stick. mine was a late 18 build so it had the upgraded ring packs but regardless plenty of non oil consuming 16s and 17s and 18s out there and many 19s and 20s with oil consumption too. i've never chimed in on this but finally had to. rant over.
However, I hear what you're saying about plenty of 16-17's not using oil but I personally, would be a little apprehensive to buy an 18 built in 17. Don't think the new piston ring pack changes were in effect early on.
