long tube headers back to stock

so I was wondering how expensive would it be to go back to stock from long tubes?
I guess I’ve gotten old and long tubes + high flow cats are too loud and dealing with emissions are a pain in the a**.
Could someone help me understand what I’ll be going through more or less to achieve this? I guess I’ll need to get stock exhaust manifold and catalytic converters. I suppose I can leave my resonators and axle back.
Is there anything I should be worried about? I don’t care about the cost just need to do this probably

Do you still have the stock cat back? Maybe adding some additional resonators or mufflers to quiet it down would be easier.

Stock parts plus labor is all your talking. A capable exhaust shop can make anything work.

Cracks me up how people with mustangs believe aftermarket headers are a requirement for mustang ownership. Lol.

Cat deletes will get you within 5-10 hp of longtubes. I’d put my money in other places.

I highly doubt that due to the scavenging. Not to mention the thinner material which is what makes them so noisy. Talk to a tuner. They'll tell you why they like longtubes over stock. The stock ones even run into their limitations when going FI.

This right here. Tons of choices with heavily resonated setups. A lot of people under estimate the volume increase from headers.

thanks gor all the replies. I’m just trying to make an educated decision mostly on next steps whether or not worth it to revert back or try a different set up - I really do appreciate the comments. Gotta figure out what is best for my application and use of my car I suppose

Answer a few questions asked yes I potentially would be interested in those if I decide to revert back if you wanted to DM.

The long tubes I have are the mbrp with high flow cats. I had the borla atak but put on some 4” resonators + a much quieter axle back to tone it down so I stop getting HOA violations.

Lastly, emissions played a part since most tuners are unwilling to help with the CEL/O2 stuff relying on defoulers and hoping they don’t do some sort of visual depending on the person doing the test is also annoying to have in the back of my mind

You have how much money tied up in just your exhaust? Lol. Stock headers work fine with my tuner. Stock exhaust will work FI. Cat delete simple/easy and more cost effective. Not everybody needs to make 1000 whp. Pass the crack pipe...

Just because you're a cheap ass doesn't mean it doesn't make more power. Stock headers may "work fine" but they're still limited in what they can do. Keep thinking that though.

Yes, I spend money on quality parts because I have money. Your point? Arguing cold air intakes is one thing, but the fact that you're arguing headers being worth it or not from a power standpoint means you still have a lot to learn.

Lol. My 18 on stock headers/exhaust/intake would drag your 17 with 5k in bolt on’s... Everyone I have talked to gained exactly one tenth in quarter n/a with longtubes on 18 plus auto. Not worth it to me. I have money too (because I do NOT waste it). My M.O. is the have the best running car wiith the LEAST amount $ spent. Is that so hard for you to understand...?

OP - Keep the LT's since you've already got them on. Find a direct fit catback that will bolt right up to the LT's / even like Beefcake stated, run the stock catback. I've heard youtube videos of the stock catback with non catted headers and it's not bad. Not obnoxious loud either. Good luck!
