Locking Gas Cap?

So I was told that my neighbor's car was vandalized. Not a Mustang. Someone put water, sand and leaves in the gas tank!!! Poor girl.

I'd feel a little bit better with a locking gas cap on our Mustang though.

Hopefully they release one soon.

Yes, I wondered why Ford didn't put a interlock on the gas cap in the Mustang. Fortunately, not an issue for me.

Still, a great mystery. Seems like table stakes to me.

I had a Fiesta in France with the same system, but at least when you locked the doors it also used to lock the gas door... So basically anyone could still the gas from your car in a parking lot or if your car stays out at night ?!

Nope!

Lock the doors and push on the gas door, it pops right open.

BMW has a similar spring type door, but they have a pin that comes out into a hole in the gas door when you lock the car so it essentially locks the door. I wish ford had done something similar.
