Is everyone running the tune using the thermostat 2 & would that explain some of the hp gains compared to other tuners?

With our custom tuning you will see gains of around 56 wheel horsepower over stock, and 87 additional Ft. Lbs of torque, with maximum gains of 109hp and 100 Ft. lbs of torque. The thermostat is not for added power, but for better efficiency, repeatability and driveability.

You would have to check with whomever your tuner is. We can tun for it easily.
you're limiting the customer base by being so cloak and dagger-ish lol

would being a little more specific about how to utilize a lower temp thermostat be giving away confidential tuning secrets?

Not being secretive...I do not know who your tuner is, nor their level of access and experience with the EcoBoost ECU.

Ford does all of their power testing at around 140° coolant temp, so all we are doing is taking your ~177° stock unit down to 160° to get you as close to that 140° range without you losing your creature comforts of a modern vehicle.

We cannot speak to your tuner's personal capabilities, software nor experience. We use all of our own exclusive tuning software and hardware.

The tune has to be adjusted because the fans are electronic for instance. Having the thermostat open earlier doesn't help if the fans don't start running while you are sitting in the staging area.

LMS might do more with it, but that's one example.

Please provide a source showing that Ford breaks SAE J1349 regulations when they certify their engines' horsepower rating. I would hope the SAE witness would catch that.

Cooler engine = more timing
and higher friction too, meaning the engine has to work harder to make the torque (more indicated torque required to achieve the intended brake torque). It's a tradeoff.

Higher friction? At the levels we are talking it's not measurable or at least not significant but one extra degree of timing can be an easing 10-15 hp and that is significant. Bottle line proof is in the results and lms gets them
